Growing demand for Aperi and rsquo;s virtualized media production technology helps it secure $10m+ in funding

Aperi, the pioneer of virtualized media production, has closed a round of funding of more than $10 million (USD) as it seeks to scale to meet the growing demand from customers for its unique range of services. Much of this investment has come from a group of global industry-focused venture capitalists led by software and cloud technology experts Merapar, and including Ocom, Manuardeo, Innov8on and Malvern Ventures LLC, which are drawn from the UK, USA, Europe and Asia.

Frame.io Announces Series B Growth Round of Funding Led by FirstMark Capital

Frame.io, developers of the video review and collaboration platform for content creators, has raised $20 million in Series B growth funding led by FirstMark Capital. The latest round of funding was also supported by return backers Accel Partners, SignalFire and Shasta Ventures. This latest infusion of capital brings Frame.ios total funding to date to $32 million, which the startup will use to develop in key areas including the core video review and collaboration product, cloud and content security, and the Frame.io developer ecosystem. Founded in 2014, Frame.io is also backed by Hollywood heavyweights Jared Leto and Kevin Spacey.

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers(R) (SMPTE(R)), the worldwide leader in motion-imaging standards and education for the communications, media, entertainment, and technology industries, has successfully completed a 60-day crowdfunding campaign for its "Moving Images" documentary, with a total of $66,382 raised on Indiegogo and additional funds donated directly to the Society. SMPTE's "Moving Images" is currently ranked as the seventh most funded verified nonprofit film project on Indiegogo. The growing list of corporate sponsors for the project includes Ad-ID, Alliance Video and Post Inc., Blackmagic Design, Canon, Codex Digital, DSC Labs, Ewing-Foley Inc., FotoKem, Image Matters, IMAX, Maxell, Modern VideoFilm, Signiant, and Sundog Media Toolkit.
