Vinten and Sachtler Launch Innovative Ground Spreader for Award-Winning flowtech Tripod
Vitec Group brands Vinten and Sachtler, creators of the revolutionary flowtech carbon-fibre tripod, today announced the launch of a new ground spreader for the flowtech75 and flowtech100 models. Especially valuable in electronic newsgathering (ENG) and electronic field production (EFP) applications, the fast-deploying spreader connects the three tripod legs at ground level for added stability on even terrain.

Bertie Gregory and Sachtler Ace M on Vancouver Island Posted: 16/10/2013
Bertie Gregory and Sachtler Ace M on Vancouver Island
For more than two years, Bertie Gregory, the nineteen-year-old wildlife videographer from England, shot the fauna on Vancouver Island, Canada. This island, the largest in the Pacific in North America, is not only home to black bears, one of Gregory's main focuses. Wolves, pumas, and whales can also be found there. The young filmmaker recently finished his almost 16-minute documentary, West Coast Adventure, in which he also narrates and presents about black bears on the island. Since he did not want the bears to feel threatened or scared in their habitat, he shot from a boat with his Nikon D7000. For a firm stand, the wildlife filmmaker depended upon the lightweight and robust Ace M tripod system by Sachtler, part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company.

Sachtler expands Ace Product Line with Ace L Posted: 07/09/2012
Sachtler expands Ace Product Line with Ace L

Sachtler, part of Vitec Videcom, a Vitec Group company, will expand the Ace product line with the new 75mm Ace L fluid head at IBC2012.  The new fluid head will be available with a choice of three different carbon-fiber tripods. In comparison to the popular Ace M, Ace L has an extended payload range of zero to six kilograms (0 to 13 lbs). This makes the new fluid head extremely versatile: whether filming with a lightweight video-enabled DSLR camera, a heavier rig with camera accessories, or a HDV camcorder. Seven steps make counterbalancing comfortable and quick. The Ace L also features the patented SA dragTM (Synchronised Actuated Drag) damping with three vertical and three horizontal grades of drag (+0), which provides an authentic broadcast feel and familiar dependability for precise panning and tilting. Popular Sachtler features, such as the illuminated bubble level, round out the new Ace L fluid head.
