AvocaBlue Broadcasts the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with Blackmagic Design Posted: 22/06/2017
Blackmagic Design today announced that award-winning singer-songwriter Kate Miller-Heidke's performance with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra was captured in 4K using its Micro Studio Camera 4Ks and Studio Camera 4Ks. In order to broadcast the performance, Australian television production company AvocaBlue built a flypack using Blackmagic Designs ATEM 1 M/E Production Studio 4K live production switcher, Smart Videohub 20x20 router, HyperDeck Studio Pro broadcast deck and more.

VRTUL Uses Micro Studio Camera 4Ks for First 360-degree Underwater Broadcast Posted: 22/06/2017
Blackmagic Design today announced that its Micro Studio Camera 4Ks are part of the new VRTUL Live pro underwater stereoscopic 360 system, which ABCs Good Morning America recently used for a 360-degree underwater live stream. The live stream, produced by San Diego-based live-action VR solutions and production company VRTUL, also made use of Blackmagic Designs Video Assist 4K monitor/recorder, Teranex AV standards processor, Arduino Shield, HyperDeck Studio 12G broadcast deck, Smart Videohub 40x40 router and more.

NHK Media Technology Creates 8K Media Player HyperCUBE Using HyperDeck Studio 12G Posted: 29/06/2016

Blackmagic Design has announced that Japans NHK Media Technology created an 8K60p video media player, "HyperCUBE MHP-8000, using four Blackmagic HyperDeck Studio 12G. 

NHK Media Technology is an affiliate of Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), specializing in broadcasting technology as well as programming and sales. The organization has built a strong capacity in developing non-broadcast technology, including broadcast design and operations.

Blackmagic Design today announced HyperDeck Software Update 3.5, a new software update for its popular HyperDeck Studio that adds support for the industry standard ExFAT file system so Windows formatted ExFAT disks can simply be inserted for recording and playback. ExFAT is also supported on Mac OS X, so this means disks can be natively mounted on both Windows and Mac OS X without any third party software required.
