IABM has announced the appointment of Chris Exelby, Managing Director, TSL Professional Products, as Chair of its recently formed UK Regional Council.
Exelby will be joined by 10 senior executives from IABM member companies, selected to lead the organisations UK Regional Council. The new Board members that will join Exelby are: David Peto, MD, Aframe; Micky Edwards, Director, Amagi; Markus Frees, Sales Director, ARRI GB Ltd; Daniella Weigner, MD; Cinegy; Christelle Gental, Product Solution Marketing Manager, Cisco; John Nemeth, VP EMEA, Elemental Technologies; Brian Paisley, MD, Ideas Unlimited; Rupert Watson, Director, Root6 Limited; David Atkins, MD, Suitcase TV Ltd and Richard Satchell, MD, Bexel Global Broadcast Solutions (part of Vitec Group plc).
The team of industry experts will provide invaluable support to the local broadcast and media technology supply industry by focusing on the key issues that impact businesses in the UK and give members a voice in a global industry.
The UK Council, alongside the recently formed APAC Council, will provide the association with a strong presence in each region, creating a forum for discussion, debate and action on issues relevant to local markets and activities.
Chris Exelby, Managing Director, TSL Products says: IABM represents its worldwide members interests and this means that it is naturally limited in the strategies that it can pursue so as to remain impartial. The formation of the regional councils allows for the first time activities that better fit the business objectives of the regions members.
In the UK for instance, this might mean leveraging and making better use the of the government help available for the promotion of exports, or perhaps influencing the organisation of the UK broadcast tradeshows. Its early days yet and we have many ideas as to how we may help our UK members make the most of the opportunities our industry presents. I am honoured to be part of the UK council and look forward to bringing advantage to the UKs IABM members.
The next UK Regional Council meeting is scheduled for Thursday 3rd December 2015
