LEE Filters launches LEE Direct eCommerce Channel for UK Customers

LEE Filters, a leading manufacturer of high-quality lighting, photographic and cine filters, has launched LEE Direct, an ecommerce website giving UK-based customers the option to purchase a range of photographic products directly.

LEE Direct provides photographers with the opportunity to purchase over 100 products – including LEE Filters’ top 40 photographic products, inclusive of adaptor rings, holders, polarisers and system kits as an alternative to LEE’s UK dealer network.

“We live in world where B2C is more and more e-commerce orientated, so LEE is reacting to this growing trend and has made it easy for customers to buy direct from their manufacturer of choice, if that’s their preference” says Paul Mason, Managing Director, LEE Filters. “LEE continues to innovate with both its products and how it does business, so LEE Direct is part of this strategy to offer our end customers more choice in how they prefer to buy LEE.”

Customers purchasing through LEE Direct benefit from free shipping on all orders over £100, with no minimum order quantity, and delivery times of one to three working days. UK customers also benefit from a seamless shopping experience, with an easy and intuitive login process that ensures a speedy checkout process, easy-to-access order history and account information, as well as shipment tracking and easy re-ordering of previous purchases. The UK based LEE customer service team is available to support customers who have any technical and photographic queries or just need product support.

“LEE Direct builds on the momentum of the many new products and initiatives introduced at LEE Filters over the past 12 months,” says Nathan Bailey, Marketing Manager, LEE Filters. “This new sales channel will allow us to more deeply engage with all our customers, build the strong LEE brand and make it easy to access and develop knowledge of the LEE product range.” Stay tuned for more product announcements and exciting customer engagements coming over the coming months.

Leeds Trinity University chooses Quicklink TX for Yorkshire Voice Posted: 20/01/2020
Leeds Trinity University chooses Quicklink TX for Yorkshire Voice

Leeds Trinity University, a university renowned for teaching excellence in television and radio, have adopted the Quicklink TX to introduce guests into their Yorkshire Voice show.

The Yorkshire Voice is a local live news show produced by Journalism students at Leeds Trinity University which is broadcast live across the University’s social media platforms and website.

At the University’s studio, the Quicklink TX is set up next to the vision mixer station. A production team member is assigned to contacting and managing the guest contributors using the Quicklink and Skype TX Controller. The SDI output from the Quicklink TX is fed into the mixer and then into the studio screen and live output.

“The Quicklink TX has enabled our Journalism students to introduce live remote contributors without the need for them to always come to the studio itself for a short interview. The solution allows our BJTC MA Journalism students to replicate remote live feeds as seen on professional broadcast productions.” Mark Willett, Senior Media Technician at Leeds Trinity University.

Mark continues “The Quicklink TX not only supplements our remote live streaming location camera but enables Journalism students in the field using a phone with Skype to provide live remote coverage”.

Power of Baselight X on display at the heart of Inter BEE Posted: 31/10/2019
Power of Baselight X on display at the heart of Inter BEE

At Inter BEE, the FilmLight presence will be led by Koichi Matsui, General Manager of FilmLight KK, along with Yoko Kimura, newly appointed sales and product specialist. “FilmLight is one of the world’s leading companies for production and post production technology,” said Koichi Matsui “Yoko’s recent appointment underlines this region’s importance to us, and is a clear indication of the support we are giving to our existing and future customers in Japan.”

Top end post-production is placing ever-more stringent technical demands on technology, in support of the creative ambitions of directors, cinematographers and colourists. 4K and HDR are now commonplace, and 8K is being broadcast today in Japan. Recently, Baselight workstations were chosen for grading and finishing Ang Lee’s new movie, Gemini Man, shot and delivered in 120 frames per second, 4K, high dynamic range 3D.

Only the power of the Baselight X system can handle such a data-intensive project, while still giving the colourist free rein with next-generation creative tools and realtime response. FilmLight will demonstrate these tools as part of its latest software version at Inter BEE 2019, on an 8K display powered by a Baselight X grading system. This includes new productivity features such as the enhanced timeline with collapsing stacks and multiple tracks.
