IBC2012 Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company, will host a series of mini-workshops at IBC2012 to educate and encourage the industrys next generation of successful filmmakers.
The invaluable sessions, which will be held during the course of IBC2012 at the RAI in Amsterdam, will offer a wealth of inspiration and support to young professionals and newcomers aspiring to excel in broadcast and videography.
The nine separate Vitec Videocom mini-workshops will be led by independent filmmaking experts Philip Bloom, Sebastian Wiegartner and Nino Leitner, who will offer a wealth of advice and experience on the industrys latest techniques and technology.
Director of Photography Sebastian Wiegartner, one of Europes most prominent Video DSLR experts, will lead the first session on corporate filmmaking, covering elements from pre-production location scouting, to choosing the right equipment for the shoot.
Nino Leitner, the Austrian-based award winning filmmaker and film producer, will host two separate mini-workshops. The first, aimed at aspiring young DPs and budding narrative filmmakers, will look at different approaches of narrative filmmaking, while the second session will have a more general focus looking at the basic gear needed for DSLR filmmaking.
Philip Bloom is hosting six of the mini-workshops and will cover three key topics: The pros and cons of large sensor camcorders; the relevance of DSLRs in the filmmaking market; and polishing and perfecting interviewing techniques. BAFTA shortlisted filmmaker Philip, who has been credited with helping to popularise the DSLR video revolution, will use his extensive expertise to give advice and guidance to all attendees at the mini-workshops.
The mini-workshops will take place on the Vitec Videocom Stand 11.E55, where the market leading brands it represents will be showcasing a number of exciting new product launches. Steve Ward, Chief Marketing Officer, Vitec Videocom, said: IBC is one of the key exhibitions in the broadcast calendar and the event provides the perfect setting for our renowned brands to launch a number of best-in-class products to the industry.
This year the emphasis is not only on new products, but helping newcomers and those interested in broadcast and videography to grow. These independent mini-workshops, together with the IBC Rising Stars programme, should have a wealth of future talent ready to become the industrys next generation of filmmakers.
