Anevia, a leading provider of OTT and IPTV software solutions, has announced that MNC Group, the largest Indonesian media group, has selected Anevia’s NEA-DVR and NEA-CDN solutions to increase the scale of its OTT streaming platform, MNC Now.

With 2.5 million subscribers, pay-TV operator and content provider MNC is expanding its OTT offering through its MNC Now platform. Anevia’s OTT solutions will provide MNC Now with multiscreen functionality, live TV, catch-up TV and VOD services for 160 channels.

Anevia’s NEA-DVR is a multiscreen TV origin/packager that will enable MNC Now to launch broadcast-quality, full-HD live, time-shifted and on-demand TV services quickly, securely, and with minimum latency.

NEA-CDN, which includes CDN selector technology, will allow MNC Now to load-balance the traffic across multiple CDNs, thereby improving the quality of service. This means both better video quality and less waiting for the video to arrive. NEA-CDN is fully virtualised, allows automated deployment, and can efficiently scale up for peak viewing, and then down again afterwards.

The scalability and performance of Anevia’s solutions will enable MNC to increase in scale and reach millions of customers. In fact, NEA-DVR makes it easy to scale up infrastructure by just adding nodes to the cluster, simplifying the integration between streaming and storage, thanks to its hyper-converged environment known as Embedded Distributed Storage (EDS). The solution is also open and easy to integrate with MNC’s current ecosystem of suppliers and with its in-house developments. MNC will also benefit from support from Intech – Anevia’s local partner that will be on hand to help the team at MNC.

Grégory Samson, Anevia’s EVP WW Sales Telco & Media, said: "The market for OTT solutions is speeding up in the APAC region, which is predicted to account for 43% of global VOD subscriptions by 2022, up from 35% in 2016. Huge growth is also expected in live streaming. This partnership highlights Anevia’s investments and market penetration in the region, as well as its willingness to accompany local players in their OTT ventures."

Yudi Hamka, MNC Innovation Center COO & Group CTO, said: "Anevia’s solutions will not only help us to increase the scale and performance of MNC Now, but also to benefit from Anevia’s presence in SE Asia and its local support, through Intech, to accompany our business growth."
