Make.TV Live Video Cloud now deployed on Google Cloud Platform

Published: 10 September 2019

Make.TV, used by leaders in news, esports, sports and entertainment to handle live video in the cloud, has announced its collaboration with Google Cloud at IBC 2019 in Amsterdam. Make.TV’s Live Video Cloud (LVC) deployed on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), integrates Google Cloud’s beta streaming APIs that allow broadcasters to simplify production workflows and processes. At the Google Cloud Partner Pavilion, the two companies will demonstrate LVC running on GCP to enable a number of live sports production use cases.

LVC enables the active monitoring, routing, recording and management of live video at scale, to address the time, resource and reliability issues associated with live video. Programmers, broadcasters and content publishers of any level can acquire content quickly, easily support remote productions and route live signals into existing or newly defined IP workflows.

Live Video Cloud runs on GCP, integrating Google Cloud’s beta streaming APIs focused on label detection. These APIs can be leveraged for signal searches, highlighting scaling ingestion and ease of use during production scenarios, and demonstrating exception-based monitoring and resolution scenarios.

Make.TV is a key partner in bringing together live machine learning processing, live syndication, and intelligent distribution solutions on top of GCP in a number of live production scenarios. LVC showcases what a cloud-native offering that is unencumbered by legacy infrastructure or architecture can offer to customers across the media and entertainment vertical.

Joseph Hopkins, CRO of Make.TV, said, “Our LVC solution is now running on Google Cloud Platform and we are excited to showcase the capabilities of a combined offering in dramatically improving the production capabilities of live sports broadcasters around the world. From routing input sources to playout targets and syndication partners, to visualizing live signal inputs on Google Cloud’s global network, IBC 2019 presents us with the opportunity to demonstrate the full potential of LVC.”

Make.TV will exhibit at IBC in Hall 14, stand 14.A24, and will also have a presence the Google Cloud Partner Pavillion on stand 14.E01 in Hall 14. Make.TV’s CRO Joseph Hopkins will present at the Google stand on Sunday, September 15th from 1:00 PM – 1:20 PM, where he will discuss moving signal acquisition and routing to the cloud.
