NOA Enhances mediARC Archival System to Deliver Even Greater Archive Integrity Posted: 22/08/2016

NOA today announced an important enhancement to its mediARC archiving solution with the launch of Item History, which enables media archivists to more easily ensure and verify the accuracy of their database. Item History allows cataloguing teams and supervisors to ascertain not only who changed an archive item and when but also, exactly what was changed. This allows users to easily and quickly review previous version of an item in the event that, for example, it was erroneously updated.

NOAs New VideoScanner Solves Long-Term Access Conundrum for Archive Owners Posted: 25/08/2014

OA (IBC 8.D91) has announced VideoScanner, an ingest and normalisation solution that creates lossless video archives in a format to suit long-term access and preservation strategies.

To overcome the lack of a market-dominant lossless archive format with wide vendor support, NOAs VideoScanner uses a combination of mathematically lossless formats based on royalty-free open source technology to create lossless encoded files in the native source pixelformats (8bit 4:2:0 10bit 4:4:4) Future access to these formats is assured indefinitely, and decoders are available today for every computer operating system.

NOA Audio Solutions Upgrades mediARC(TM) With Centralized Monitoring and Control Posted: 10/09/2010
NOA Audio Solutions has upgraded its flagship mediARC(TM) audio archive management system with a Service Console to simplify and refine control and monitoring. The new Service Console provides a centralized, real-time overview of all mediARC processes running on distributed servers. With it, pinpointing and troubleshooting an error can be accomplished quickly, easily, and without downtime, potentially yielding a dramatic reduction in administrative costs.

"Administrators of mediARC with large, distributed systems -- the ones with content spread across 20 or more servers -- need be able to watch over the system and control it no matter where they happen to be sitting," said Sebastian Gabler, NOA project manager. "With the new NOA Service Console, administrators gain this centralized capability."
