Broadcasters Move to One World Trade Center with Rohde and amp; Schwarz Transmitters

Six out of seven national broadcasters have chosen to deploy the Rohde & Schwarz R&S®THU9evo digital transmitter for their primary broadcasts from One World Trade Center in New York City. Two of the stations will soon share the largest solid-state digital transmitter in the world, an R&S®THU9evo that began broadcasting in June 2017. Five additional stations will be relocating to 1WTC in the coming weeks and rely on their own Rohde & Schwarz transmitters to serve the New York market (DMA #1). |

The Digital Production Partnership (DPP) today published guidance and advice for producers and suppliers delivering close to transmission in the UK by either file or lines. Titled Delivering Close to TX Without Tape: What UK Producers Need to Know the guide aims to provide greater clarity on how producers can manage the close to transmission deliveries as the deadline for completely tapeless 1 October 2017 exactly three years after when file-based delivery became the preferred method of programme delivery to UK broadcasters BBC, BT Sport, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV, Sky and UKTV will cease to accept delivery on videotape of programmes commissioned after this date. |
