NUGEN Offers Unequalled Audio Post Plug-Ins for Music and Television Projects

As the top-line audio editing software brand for television and music mixers and producers around the world, NUGEN Audio has gained significant notoriety throughout the industry. When Mix Engineer Jorel Corpus received a copy of the company’s Producer bundle at an event surrounding the GRAMMY’s, he soon realized it was the perfect complement to his existing workflow for his range of music and television projects.

Corpus explains that prior to receiving the software, he had heard great things about NUGEN and, after using the plug-ins, he quickly realized the full breadth of the solutions’ benefits. “A lot of industry friends and colleagues who I trust use NUGEN,” he says. “I had wanted to use the company’s solutions for a while, so when I received the Producer bundle, it was perfect timing. As soon as I started to use NUGEN, I felt more assured. I use the Visualizer audio plug-in when clients send me files to immediately analyze if the signal is in mono or stereo. This organizes my resources and streamline my workflow better. I also use the Stereoizer and Stereoplacer tools regularly.”

In addition to the plug-ins found in the Producer bundle, Corpus has since acquired NUGEN’s Loudness Toolkit with VisLM loudness meter, which helps him remain compliant when working on a range of television and video-on-demand projects. “I’ve found that the ISL stereo limiter works well with the VisLM loudness meter,” he adds. “The ISL provides highly transparent True Peak limiting for all stereo and mono content. In the past, with competitor products, I would worry about being compliant. With NUGEN, you don’t even think about it. Using NUGEN plug-ins allows me to make Netflix, Amazon Prime or television deliveries that have a hardline loudness requirement very easily.”

Since incorporating NUGEN software into his workflow, Corpus has found himself replacing the plug-ins he was previously using. “Even though you have similar tools that do the same job, you gravitate towards using the higher quality solution,” he says. “I consider the NUGEN software a final layer in my productions. When I want to make sure what I’m doing is compliant, I am going to use NUGEN.”

In addition to its products, Corpus is also very happy with the service and support he receives from the NUGEN Audio team. “NUGEN has a great reputation, and the interaction I have with them every time I need to reach out is wonderful,” he continues. “It’s very reassuring to know that NUGEN truly helps people, like myself, who work in this crazy industry. Their products make the process of doing our jobs easier and gives us less to think and worry about. It’s awesome to know we have a great teammate in our corner.”

Corpus is a Grammy- and Emmy-certified, Billboard #1 awarded music producer, sound engineer and musical artist known for his work within the U.S. and Asia, which features Brandy, Tyrese, Boyz II Men, JJ Lin, G.E.M. and Disney concerts. On the television production side, his credits include The Snowy Day on Amazon prime and Family Style, an Asia foodie show released under Justin Lin’s YOMYOMF and Warner Bros. Stage 13 Platfrom,; as well as a range of projects for Windy films, a creative production agency that recently won an AdWeek ARC Award. He also works with Indie Pop Films, a full service live-action and stop-motion animation production house whose work has won awards at, and was selected for, international film festivals.

Information about the NUGEN Producer bundle, along with NUGEN Audio’s complete product family, is available at www.nugenaudio.com. For all other inquiries, please email info@nugenaudio.com.

Dejero Wins Second Prestigious Technology and Engineering Emmy Award Posted: 21/01/2020
Dejero Wins Second Prestigious Technology and Engineering Emmy Award

Globally recognized award underlines how Dejero exponentially improves flexibility in location coverage for newsgathering and live events crews

Dejero, an innovator in cloud-managed solutions that provide award-winning video transport and Internet connectivity while mobile or in remote locations, has been awarded a second prestigious Technology and Engineering Emmy® Award. The award, in the category of Video over Bonded Cellular Internet (VoCIP) technology, recognizes Dejero’s innovation in the industry, thanks to its Smart Blending Technology and unique hybrid encoding approach.

Headquartered in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, Dejero has perfected its patented and patent-pending Smart Blending and hybrid encoding technologies over the course of the last decade. The technologies work in concert to form a tightly integrated system which responds in real time to changes in network quality and video content. This has helped transform how broadcasters contribute live content from the field using cellular networks, providing newsgathering crews with greater flexibility in terms of the location from where they can transmit a live shot, at a fraction of the cost of conventional uplink technology.

“We are thrilled to win not just one Emmy® – the most recognized broadcast award in the world – but two,” said Bogdan Frusina, founder of Dejero. "Last year the committee rewarded our decade of innovation for pioneering reliable transmission methods that enable live contribution and distribution of TV signals over the public Internet. This year they have gone on to further recognize our industry-leading technologies, showing that our continuous development is raising the quality and reliability standards of mobile video and data transmission.”

Masstech launches new Adobe Premiere Pro panel for Kumulate

Adobe Premiere Pro users can now access the powerful functionality of Masstech’s intelligent storage, workflow and lifecycle management solution, Kumulate, from directly within Premiere Pro via an intuitive panel.

The Adobe panel can be quickly and easily added to any Kumulate system with minimal configuration (individual editing stations don’t need to be added as locations in the system). Storage movement and workflow tools are then presented as a plug-in within Adobe Premiere Pro, allowing users to access their entire inventory across any type of online or deeper storage tier, including cloud, local disk, optical disk, and LTO.

All assets on all storage tiers are searchable to Premiere Pro users from within the new panel, using intuitive search criteria including structured, unstructured, and time-based metadata. These powerful tools allow users to quickly access their content libraries from within Adobe Premiere Pro, dramatically speeding up workflows.

Leeds Trinity University chooses Quicklink TX for Yorkshire Voice

Leeds Trinity University, a university renowned for teaching excellence in television and radio, have adopted the Quicklink TX to introduce guests into their Yorkshire Voice show.

The Yorkshire Voice is a local live news show produced by Journalism students at Leeds Trinity University which is broadcast live across the University’s social media platforms and website.

At the University’s studio, the Quicklink TX is set up next to the vision mixer station. A production team member is assigned to contacting and managing the guest contributors using the Quicklink and Skype TX Controller. The SDI output from the Quicklink TX is fed into the mixer and then into the studio screen and live output.

“The Quicklink TX has enabled our Journalism students to introduce live remote contributors without the need for them to always come to the studio itself for a short interview. The solution allows our BJTC MA Journalism students to replicate remote live feeds as seen on professional broadcast productions.” Mark Willett, Senior Media Technician at Leeds Trinity University.

Mark continues “The Quicklink TX not only supplements our remote live streaming location camera but enables Journalism students in the field using a phone with Skype to provide live remote coverage”.
