ioGates, developers of ultra-secure file-sharing services for media professionals has updated its Smart Link content sharing solution with three key capabilities; Email Status, Collaborative Feedback and High Quality Audio Transcoding.
Confidently Share Content with New Email Status
ioGates new Email Status informs users in realtime about the status of the Smart Link file they shared via email, visually indicating emails that have successfully been sent, emails that are pending and those emails that have failed. “One of the most common errors is typing in the wrong email or spelling the email incorrectly which often results in a colleague or client not receiving an important piece of time sensitive Smart Link content,” comments Jesper Anderson, CEO, ioGates. “The new email status automatically updates users of the email in transit, making it easy to identify those Smart Links that did not make it to their destination. This new capability has been a hit with our customers.” New ioGates dashboard icons give users visual cues as to the email status with green indicating successful delivery, orange for pending delivery, and red for a failed delivery. This simple but important feedback brings an even higher level of security to Smart Link Sharing.
Improved Collaborative Commenting
The new ioGates enhances timecode linked comments. New capabilities let users reply to, edit and delete comments. Updated ioGates dashboard visuals and colored icons make it easier for users to identify who is commenting on what. Comments can also now be downloaded and saved as a PDF or CSV. They can also be downloaded as an Avid marker file and are ready for import into Avid with comments automatically displayed on the timeline.
Higher Quality Audio Transcoding
A direct result of feedback from customers working in audio, ioGates now offers the option to process proxy preview in 320Kbit audio or at the default 192Kbit.
About ioGates Smart Link Content Sharing
With ioGates’ popular “Smart Link”, users can even share files with external collaborators, where, unlike other sharing services, recipients can seamlessly review, comment or approve content through a shared folder on their desktop, no account required. Users also have the ability to create multiple sharing rules within each individual “Smart Link,” such as granting access to only specific folders for downloading or uploading, or setting two-factor authentication for extra security. This is ideal for DITs who want to share dailies with continuity, producers and directors and set varying limits, editorial that needs to collect on evolving projects and broadcasters who want to show partners content for potential purchasing and need several layers of security, yet ease of sharing with non-ioGates users.
ioGates offers tools for sharing, converting, viewing, distributing, and archiving professional media files without the need for advanced technical knowledge. Its hosted video-management services enable media companies to accelerate their broadcasting, postproduction, advertising, and marketing workflows with minimal IT resources and training. The company’s flagship ioGates cloud-based video management platform is designed to handle a variety of professional video and audio formats and codecs, yet can be controlled securely from a simple-to-use Web interface. ioGates is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
