ATG Danmon Builds UHD Video Production Studios for Fidelity International Posted: 15/04/2020
ATG Danmon Builds UHD Video Production Studios for Fidelity International

ATG Danmon announces the completion of a UHD video production facility for the London headquarters of Fidelity International. The project was prompted by Fidelity's recent relocation to a new office building in the centre of the city's financial district.

"As a flagship location, the Cannon Street office needed to be a future-focused space," says Adam Sheldrake, Head of Studios at Fidelity International . "Good communication is essential to our business so we make full use of video media for internal communication, podcasting and participation in finance-related broadcasts. ATG has worked very successfully with us in projects at our previous London headquarters as well as designing and equipping studios at our Hong Kong offices. I have always been happy with what they have provided and how they have supported us. They responded to a proposal based on our initial specification but, because of their experience in past projects for us, were able to suggest a more cost-effective approach which also provided more functionality and included kit of superior specification. The result meets our highest expectations."

"We have designed, integrated and configured a full TV studio and production control gallery plus a podcast studio with its dedicated control room, edit suites and a green room," adds ATG Danmon Managing Director Russell Peirson-Hagger. "The project also included cabling through from the control areas to a technical apparatus room."

ATG Danmon Completes Westminster Links Upgrade Posted: 27/03/2020
ATG Danmon Completes Westminster Links Upgrade

ATG Danmon announces the completion of upgrades to OB link facilities in the City of Westminster, central London, for one of Europe's leading television news providers. The project centred on new interface portals at Abingdon Green adjacent to the UK Houses of Parliament, and in Downing Street. Abingdon Green is often used by TV and radio reporters as a location for interviews with politicians and political commentators. The Downing Street portal is frequently used by reporters and mobile production crews covering activity outside the residences of the UK prime minister and the chancellor of the exchequer.

"Our role was to modernise the cabling, fibre and connectivity at each portal," says ATG Danmon managing director Russell Peirson-Hagger. "These are used for many Westminster-related broadcasts, both live and recorded, in addition to similar facilities at various other key London locations. They also form part of the wide range of facilities offered to other broadcast and corporate clients."

"Both portals are equipped to handle 1920 x 1080p50 Full-HD HD-SDI and IP. They also include high quality multi-channel analogue audio in/outs, genlock reference, IP data, a video return feed, audio talkback and electrical power. Everything is housed in highly robust and fully weatherproof steel cases which are kept locked until actually needed."

"The project is the latest of several commissions we have completed for this client. We were chosen both for our proven experience and because we already had accreditation to work within the Palace of Westminster."

Primestream New Solutions Posted: 27/02/2020
Primestream New Solutions

Creative Bridge: Easy Access to Your Media
Primestream has launched Creative Bridge, a Mac OS application that allows creative teams to take advantage of full roundtrip workflows between creative tools and Primestream Xchange™, the company's powerful flagship next-generation platform that takes the complexity out of asset management and workflow orchestration. With Creative Bridge, users of tools such as Apple’s Final Cut Pro X and Avid’s ProTools can access and register entire folders of media to and from the MAM while adding valuable metadata and maintaining folder structure. Centralization and simplification of media access throughout creative workflows benefits the entire content production chain.

Primestream Watermarking: Secure Content Protection
Primestream Visual Watermarking is a new solution that allows for watermarks to be displayed dynamically based on the active user viewing the video. The watermark includes the name of the user, IP address of the system, and a date and time stamp. Dynamic positioning prevents the use of simple masking to remove the watermark, giving the organization a highly effective tool for protecting its valuable content from unauthorized distribution during production on through to distribution.

Newsroom Framework: Tight Integration Between MAM and Octopus Newsroom
Primestream has launched a native Newsroom Framework with Octopus NRCS integration. The Newsroom Framework is built directly into the Primestream Workflow Server core, allowing for tight integration with newsroom platforms, delivering greater stability, and supporting quick turnaround for the latest features and workflows with newsroom systems. Organizations can use Newsroom Framework not only to reduce their cost of infrastructure, but also to simplify network connectivity between MAM and Octopus Newsroom and reduce points of failure for mission-critical components.

ATG Danmon Completes News Studio Systems for Cardiff Universitys School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies Posted: 14/11/2019
ATG Danmon Completes News Studio Systems for Cardiff Universitys School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies

ATG Danmon announces the completion of a full broadcast-quality news studio facility for Cardiff University's School of Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies. The project coincides with a relocation to new city-centre premises situated next to BBC facilities. Cardiff University will use the facility to train the next generation of television, radio, online and printed-media journalists. Herefordshire based CJP Broadcast Service Solutionsprovided the installation services for the project.

"We were invited to propose a turnkey solution based on an outline specification provided by the university," explains ATG Danmon Managing Director Russell Peirson-Hagger. "The project comprised a large TV studio and dedicated gallery, a smaller TV studio with its associated gallery, plus a broadcast newsroom. Both galleries connect via SDI to Vizrt media, graphics and automation. Avid iNEWS is also integrated."

"The system links to a news presentation suite where a remotely controlled camera and two-way video feed allow the newsreader to talk to a newsroom reporter. The systems simulate the functionality and processes of a real broadcast environment, the output being used for academic review."

"We worked in partnership with CJP and Cardiff University staff to design and integrate a complete solution that kept within the budget and provided the specified level of functionality that is required by the teaching staff. This was successfully achieved before students returned after the summer recess.
