Vitec Production Solutions at the BSC Expo
Posted: 15/01/2019
Making its official debut at the BSC Expo will be the all-new dual-battery bracket, which enables users to power a Gemini panel with two industry-standard 14.4V broadcast camera batteries mounted directly to the yoke or light stand. With its extremely lightweight and on-board, ballast-free power supply, Gemini has always been easy to transport and rig at on-location shoots. Now it's even more practical in situations where portable power is preferred over mains power, including a broad range of ENG and ENP applications. Unlike competing LED panels, which can only generate 50 percent of their maximum output when battery-powered, Gemini can operate at up to 100 percent intensity running from mains and battery power alike. |

Markus Fraunholz Filmed the Historical Film Frei (eng. Free) with the OConnor 2575
Posted: 20/12/2013
The historical film Frei is a fictitious story about a romance between an SS-Obersturmbannfuhrer and a Jewish Holocaust survivor. The historical backdrop is the ratline, a Nazi escape route after the war. The work on the film took director Bernd Fischauer and DoP Markus Fraunholz to South Tyrol and Trieste. The scenery and atmosphere there had to match those of the original locations among others, Buenos Aires. This required intensive preparation and planning to the last detail. To implement the 88 motifs in 27 days, Fraunholz needed camera support that would precisely carry out every predetermined setting. That is why he depended on the robust and innovative 2575 fluid head by OConnor, a part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company. |

An Unbeatable Team: Alexander Palm and OConnor
Posted: 20/12/2013
At the beginning of the year, DP Alexander Palm documented the "average German" Thomas Mller and his "average life" for the Terra X series "Deutschland wie wir leben" (Engl.: Terra X Germany Who We Are) produced by the German network ZDF. For the scenic sections, the cinematographer accompanied the protagonist throughout his day with the Canon C500. During filming, Palm used two OConnor products, the O-Grips and the 2575 fluid head. OConnor is a part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company. |

DoP Hans Jakobi Relies on the OConnor Ultimate 2575D Head
Posted: 19/12/2013
The documentary "Legacy of Gods", produced by Cinemonde Innovativ and Virtual Experience is a massive project which is to be finished in time for the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. The team finds places all over the world where a wide variety of deities are thought to have lived from Chile to Guatemala, Ethiopia, Nepal, Morocco, Jordan, Turkey, and Israel. On location, the team surrounding German DoP Hans Jakobi will be confronted with the common roots of all faiths and pilgrimage sites. For this purpose, the 3D movie is elevated to a new level with special equipment. For high-resolution 3D pictures, the team films with at least 48 images per second and uses a remote-controlled mini-helicopter. The multi-channel 7.1 Dolby Surround System enables the team to get the right sound. |

OConnor Helps Crescenzo Raise the Bar of Visual Excitement on CSI:Las Vegas
Posted: 16/12/2013
Keeping a hit television show thats been on the air for 14 years fresh and interesting is a demanding challenge. As scripts get bigger to sustain audience interest, budgets inevitably get smaller. When a show reaches syndication, it has primarily done its job of crossing the finish line of making money for a very long time, says CSI cinematographer Crescenzo Notarile, ASC. So, why spend more when the networks, at this point, dont have to. Its a creative challenge to keep the audience coming back with what we have. Its not making more its making the freshest. Working with OConnor and its support equipment, it keeps us cameramen perpetually perfecting camera movement and striving higher to express a story. Each week we try to creatively surpass what we did in the previous episode, and in our own way, raise the bar if not for the audience, for ourselves as filmmakers. And, I can always count on OConnor to be there to help me make this possible. OConnor is part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company. |
