Ortana Launches Click2 Transactional Pay-As-You-Go QC, Transcoding and Storage

Date: 27/09/2016

Ortana Media Group is set to revolutionise the world of broadcast media technology with the introduction of the Click2 transactional pay-as-you-go file management platform. Based on three modules (Click2QC, Click2Encode and Click2Archive), it gives broadcast-related businesses of any scale the freedom to perform many of their media management activities without need for dedicated on-site equipment.

"Broadcasters and postproduction companies typically gear themselves for a predicted average level of activity," says Ortana founder and CEO James Gibson. "Click2 offers them the freedom to expand their resources to meet transient peaks in demand without needing to invest capital and space in extra hardware."

"Click2 also eliminates the overheads of on-site equipment installation and maintenance. It greatly simplifies the task of financial management within a television station or independent post facility, eliminating the risk of over-reaching the annual spend on in-house equipment. Click2 is highly secure, highly robust and scalable practically without limit. It is also very cost-efficient."

"Each Click2 module is available on the basis of a paying per minute of content processed. There are no minimum monthly fees and no setting up of virtual machines; simply sign up and proceed."

Click2QC is a transactional pay-as-you-go quality control platform designed to analyse the video, audio and metadata content of media files. Brought to the market in partnership with Quales, Click2QC is suitable for online or broadcast content. It provides a straightforward
web-based and visual health check system for media, ensuring content readiness in all phases of workflow. Most standard formats are supported, including HEVC for compressed UHD content.

Click2Encode is a transactional pay-as-you-go transcoding platform, complete with Cinnafilm Tachyon standards conversion. Native support is provided for a very wide range of outputs including Apple ProRes 4:4:4 4K, DPX and HEVC.

Click2Archive is a transactional pay-as-you-go active-accelerated content archiving platform, offering secure storage. No dedicated hardware required on site beyond a standard internet-interfaced enterprise-level computer. Data encryption is provided both in transit and at rest, plus proxy playback. A secure portal allows users to search, browse and even view online proxies and select content frame accurately before scheduling it for restore and processing.
