As one the UKs leading broadcast systems solution providers, Oxygen DCT, will debut new tapeless acquisition systems at BVE North (stand 316) in addition to a comprehensive range of monitors and broadcast systems equipment for production studios, edit suites and Outside Broadcast vehicles.
A central feature of the stand will be the award-winning Evolution P3 series of production monitors with on-board HD recorders and the award winning Cinedeck tapeless digital video recorders which set the standards for future tapeless workflow systems.
For broadcasters, the company will show its highly compact Master Control in a box, demonstrating new multi-channel picture monitors, Leader waveform and vectorscopes, video loss and status reporting systems and the SmartFibre optical transmission and distribution system.
Targeted at broadcasters, production crews and outside broadcast, Oxygen DCT is also debuting the new Cinedeck RX two channel HD recorder that revolutionises tapeless recording and editing and dramatically improving workflow. This rack mountable multi-format, multi-channel device is a recorder, monitor and playback system all in one and is ideally suited to production facilities and OB vehicles and extends the innovations of the award-wining Cinedeck EXTREME, which will also be on show.
These devices simplify and speed up production workflow, therefore reducing costs, by allowing users to record in ProRes, DNxHD and Cineform formats as well as uncompressed 422 and 444, up to 1080p, says Steve Hathaway, Managing Director of Oxygen DCT. This means that users can begin editing immediately, with no need for file conversion.
Hathaway adds that for many years film productions have employed a second camera that tracks the main camera to give directors a fast video playback without interrupting the main camera recording.
This video assist facility has been a vital part of the production process and required an additional video recorder and ancillary equipment, he says. However, with the Evolution P3 Series, the directors monitor has on-board recording from the main camera and instant on-screen playback. What's more, using optional SD-HC media cards, the video recording can be reviewed and stored on a laptop computer, again saving time and money by eliminating the need for a second recording device. These features are genuinely world-first and are set to revolutionize film production.
Oxygen DCT completes its equipment line-up with a range of traditional broadcast engineering products, including multiviewers, interfaces and converters, rack monitors, quad splits, HD down converters, Grade One picture monitors and the unique SmartFibre optical conversion kits with signal status monitoring and diagnostics.
