Tightrope Media Systems Launching Next-Generation  Cablecast Flex Video Servers at 2016 NAB Show

Tightrope Media Systems is using the 2016 NAB Show (April 18-21, Las Vegas Convention Center) as the launch pad for Cablecast Flex, a new generation of multi-format video servers in the popular Cablecast broadcast automation family. Debuting in booth SL4228 at the show, Cablecast Flex servers combine the proven reliability and rich feature set of Tightropes earlier Cablecast SX series with higher channel density, flexible configurability and increased performance. The Cablecast Flex platform also provides a powerful foundation for future Cablecast automation software enhancements.

Suburban Community Channels Serves Local Viewers with Tightrope Media Systems

Many Community TV broadcasters across the United States rely on Tightrope Media Systems to simplify multichannel scheduling and playout, but one Minneapolis-area broadcaster is leveraging the full Tightrope portfolio to establish meaningful community connections beyond master control.

Suburban Community Channels has been the Community TV and media resource connection for the northeast Minneapolis/St. Paul suburbs for more than 30 years, delivering 17 physical channels from its facility.  As the local cable franchise authority for Comcast, the PEG broadcaster delivers eight channels of programming across 12 municipalities, including discrete government channels for each community.  Suburban Community Channels populates its remaining channels with a variety of imported and locally produced content, the latter of which includes live broadcasts of high school sports.

City of Edina Automates Local HD SD PEG Channels with Tightrope Cablecast

Edina Community Channel 16 in Minnesota recently became the states first Public Access-Educational-Government (PEG) channel to broadcast in HD on Comcast cable systems, with technology from Tightrope Media Systems supporting the transition and new production workflow.
