PIXELLOT PARTNERS WITH MACCABI WORLD UNION TO STREAM THE MACCABIAH GAMES FOR THE FIRST TIME

Pixellot, the world’s leading provider of AI-Automated™ sports video and analytics solutions and Maccabi World Union, the largest and longest running Jewish sports organization signed an agreement to stream hundreds of games and matches at the upcoming Maccabiah games. The tournament will run July 12-July 26, 2022.

Israel will host the 21st Maccabiah Games with an opening ceremony on July 14th at Teddy Stadium, Jerusalem, for 30,000 fans. The ceremony will see torches carried by five athletes - Tokyo Olympic medalist Avishag Semberg; swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko; Paralympic swimmers, Ami Dadon and Iyad Shalabi, and Jewish-American ex Major League Baseball (MLB) player Ian Kinsler. The Games’ ceremonial torch will be kindled by Israeli Olympic Medalists Linoy Ashram and Artem Dolgopyat.

The 21st Maccabiah is the biggest sporting event in Israel and the second largest in the world, held once every four years with the participation of Israeli and Jewish athletes. The Maccabiah is expected to include about 10,000 athletes from about 60 countries who will compete in dozens of sports, along with thousands of supporting staff, fans and tourists.

This unique celebration of Jewish sports was founded in 1932, but has had very little coverage in the past for fans and families of the athletes who travel to cheer on their favorite teams and athletes. Pixellot technology will change this, by enabling the action to be streamed live, or on-demand, so Jewish communities from around the world can feel a part of this unique sporting event.

The scope of the games is immense and only this highly scalable solution from Pixellot can manage such a feat. The 14-day tournament will cover 42 sports in some 30 different venues in three different cities in Israel.

“Pixellot technology is a real game-changer for the visibility and engagement of families and communities of the thousands of athletes that are competing in the Maccabiah games” said Arik Zeevi, Maccabiah Chairman, and former Israeli Olympian medallist. “It is also instrumental in fulfilling our mission to facilitate a worldwide sports competition of young Jewish athletes and strengthening their connection to Israel and the Jewish people.”

“The communal and social benefits that Pixellot is enabling are immense,” said Alon Werber, CEO of Pixellot. “Our participation in the Maccabiah games really showcases how our technology can help bring about the democratization of sports to all types of leagues and competitions thanks to its scalability, cost effectiveness, and ease of use.”

As the world’s largest producer of sports content, producing and streaming over 2 million live games, Pixellot’s AI-Automated solution is revolutionizing the way teams play, coach, and share their games with family, friends, and fans. By enabling teams to easily capture and analyze their games, broadcast them live or on-demand and monetize through advertising and subscriptions.
