Many people in the industry will have heard of the death of David Scrutton, joint MD of hire company Broadcast Services who tragically died of cancer in October last year at the age of 48.
David was always a very fit and athletic person which made it all the more surprising that he was taken from us so suddenly at such a young age.
Darren Moss, hire manager at Broadcast Services writes:
“One great example of how Dave would encourage us all to get fitter for our own good was his enthusiasm in getting us out of the office & onto our bikes.
He could not understand why the weight was not falling off of me despite riding to work for a couple of months, so he decided to ride home with me one night – apparently stopping at the Pub on the way home for some liquid refreshment & a pie was not the way to go……”
During his last few weeks, David was looked after by an amazing team at the Sam Beare Hospice in Weybridge which is funded by voluntary donations.
In memory of David, Geoff Hurst, friend and ex employee of Broadcast Services is participating in the London Triathlon on Saturday July 30th to raise money for the Hospice.
