Call for Papers Extended for SMPTE Australia 2017 (SMPTE17) Posted: 19/01/2017
The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers(R) (SMPTE(R)), the organisation whose standards work has supported a century of technological advances in entertainment technology, today announced that the SMPTE Australia Section has extended the call-for-proposals deadline for the SMPTE Australia Conference & Exhibition (SMPTE17). The new deadline for proposal submissions is the close of business on 3 February.

Mike Law of BCD Audio comments on the proposal for multichannel audio using AES3 Posted: 22/05/2012

AES3 is the standard for interconnection of stereo audio signals between studio equipment. It originated in parallel with the SPDIF format during the 1980's, and has evolved to allow sampling frequencies to 192 KHz stereo, and to transport multichannel compressed audio at the 48 KHz sampling frequency.
