RTS Thames Valley Centre Inaugural Awards

The Royal Television Society Thames Valley Centre held its inaugural TVC Awards at their 28thAnnual Dinner Dance, now Winter Ball, on 23rd November, hosted at the prestigious Wokefield Estate, Mortimer, Reading. Attended by leading broadcast industry representatives, fourteen outstanding nominees made it through to the shortlist categories consisting of Corporate Website, Community Improvement, Young Technologist, and Broadcast Hero.
The Broadcast Bridge won the Corporate Website award. Judges acknowledged their outstanding contribution to the broadcast industry by generating over 300 pages of uniquely independently authored highly specialised technical content every month. Runners up were The Broadcast Knowledge and Boxer Systems.
Manor Marketing won the Community Improvement Business award. MD Jennie Marwick-Evans’ fundraising and marketing contribution to local mental health charities was recognised and greatly appreciated by the judging panel, especially due to the focus on young people. Runners up were Cosmos Technology and IPE.
Carys Hughes won the Young Technologist award. Carys, Design Engineer for Sky UK, impressed the judges with her incredible passion for broadcast technology, outstanding pragmatic scrutiny and respect for scientific methods. Runners up were Joe Withers of Emotion Systems, and Glenn Shadbolt of Pixel Power.
And the Broadcast Hero award went to Charlie Cooke, Graphics Designer at Pixel Power. Judges were impressed by Charlie’s demonstration of outstanding commitment to customer satisfaction and creative design. Runners up were Stewart Dalton and Vijay Forrester of Mirriad Advertising, Lyndsay Duthie of Ice Blue Media, and Reuben Such of IPE.
After the Awards ceremonies the Winter Ball got into full swing with guest live band Bodkin Lane playing to a packed dance floor into the small hours of the morning, concluding another successful evening hosted by the RTS Thames Valley Centre.
