SENCORE at IBC2010

At IBC2010, SENCORE will highlight five innovative products that support high-quality video delivery and cost-effective operations: the SMD 989 DVB-S2 Modulator, the TXS 3453 Transcoder, the MRD3187B receiver decoder, the aG-1826 card, and the IRD3000 integrated receiver decoder. All SENCORE products display the company's commitment to combining the latest technology with thoughtful design to ensure cost-effective signal processing, test and measurement, and video delivery no matter the application.

SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 Modulator
The new SENCORE SMD 989 DVB-S2 offers unprecedented modulation efficiency and extreme flexibility, supporting the modulation of two independent DVB-S2 RF transmissions. Packaged in a two-channel, 1RU chassis, this platform provides a flexible space- and transponder-saving solution for uplinks. The modulator further accepts transport streams via DVB-ASI or IP inputs using the UDP or RTP protocols, which gives users the flexibility to accommodate changes over time. In addition, the SMD 989 features an optional agile L-band upconverter with an output frequency range of 950 to 2150 MHz, sustains all modulation formats defined in the DVB-S2 standard, and offers optional multistream inputs along with an agile RF upconverter.

SENCORE TXS 3453 Transcoder
On display at IBC2010 will be the new SENCORE TXS 3453, a high-performance transcoding platform delivering multiple channels of best-in-class transcoding in a reliable, high-density 1RU chassis. A configurable engine and multichannel architecture allow users to perform both SD and HD transcoding and transrating at an unbeatable cost per channel. Key features include bidirectional video transcoding from MPEG-2 to MPEG-4/H.264 and/or H.264 to MPEG-2 in all common HD or SD formats, as well as ASI and IP transport stream and optional RF interfaces. The TXS 3453 offers up to 16 channels, providing broadcast, cable, and satellite operators with the most cost-effective solution for their specific needs.

SENCORE MRD3187B Receiver Decoder
SENCORE's next generation of standard-setting modular receiver decoders (MRDs) are installed by more broadcast, cable, satellite, and telco providers than any others. The versatile MRD3187B receiver decoder adapts to virtually any contribution, distribution, or backhaul environment and sets the standard for performance, scalable functionality, and cost of ownership. The MRD3187B features SCTE-35-104 message conversion for commercial insertion applications, DVB-Common Interface for conditional access decryption, multiservice descrambling, and advanced DVB-S2 capabilities such as 16ASPK and VCM support.

SENCORE aG-1826 IP Card
The aG-1826 high-density IP de-encapsulator card features six ASI outputs and is ideal for decoding and monitoring multiple SD and HD channels, either in a head-end or at other points within a network. When coupled with the SENCORE aG-3802 input decoder, the aG-1826 provides a cost-effective, card-based decoder solution for monitoring MPEGoIP-carried video. With six transport stream outputs, one aG-1826 card can deliver input to as many as six decoders, making it ideal across many applications from contribution to primary distribution and intra-facility routing. The aG-1826 base module fits into SENCORE's aG-3800 or equivalent openGear¢ chassis to de-encapsulate MPEGoIP data and output the transport stream(s) to any of the ASI ports on the card.

SENCORE IRD3000 Integrated Receiver Decoder
The SENCORE IRD3000 line of professional receivers/decoders offers cost-effective solutions for the distribution of video services for any network with targeted applications. The new IRD is designed to support SD applications, allowing operations to leverage their existing SD infrastructures while affording an easy upgrade path to HD for the future. The IRD3000 product family supports inputs including a satellite RF or MPEGoIP combined with ASI transport stream, and transport stream outputs are available on ASI and MPEGoIP for distribution to digital networks.

Other SENCORE Products on Display at IBC2010:

SENCORE VideoBRIDGE Series
The award-winning SENCORE VideoBRIDGE family of monitoring, measurement, and analysis tools employs stream-based IP packets for continuous quality assurance of a network containing streaming media in a variety of compression schemes, including MPEG-2 and MPEG-4. The VideoBRIDGE product line ranges from advanced core monitoring systems for national networks to edge-specific and even customer-premises applications to ensure consistent, high-quality signal delivery no matter what the application.

SENCORE TSM1770 Transport Stream Monitor
The SENCORE TSM 1770 Transport Stream Monitor enables engineers to monitor compressed audio, video, and data services on any satellite network. With full support for ASI, SMPTE310M, 8-VSB, QAM, and Ethernet physical inputs, the TSM 1770 offers complete system confidence because it reports transport stream status on the physical layer, protocol, and audio/video levels. It also monitors quality of service parameters and delivers the results in a straightforward way so that even non-experts in MPEG can make decisions that maximize service availability.

SENCORE DMG 3000/3100 Multiplexer
The SENCORE DMG 3000/3100 multiplexer is a simple and powerful digital cable solution for operators launching or expanding digital services. Developed specifically for digital cable operators, the multiplexer relies on advanced software to simplify deployment and operational routines while performing thorough analysis of source PSI/SI and PSIP tables and automatically regenerating all tables as required.
