Farncombe Consulting Group, the privately-owned European TV services consultancy, is playing an important role in the creation of SeeSaw - the new online TV service for UK consumers due to launch in the coming months.
Earlier this year Arqiva secured the technology and SeeSaw brand name from Project Kangaroo, the VOD platform jointly developed by BBC Worldwide, ITV and Channel 4. Farncombe Managing Partner Dr Stephen Upton has been retained to provide project management and technical support services leading up to SeeSaw's launch. The Farncombe Group is also providing support to SeeSaw across a number of other areas, including business analysis, systems integration, testing and trials.
Dr Upton said Farncombe was delighted to be so closely involved in the creation of the ground-breaking platform. "We're very pleased that SeeSaw has recognized our unique track-record in this space," he said, "and of course we are also delighted to be involved in the creation of such an innovative venture."
Farncombe has recently played a key role in the development, launch and rollout of a variety of VOD platforms in Germany, France and the UK.
SeeSaw CEO Pierre-Jean Sebert added: "Steve and the Farncombe team are providing vital support for a highly complex technical project delivered to extremely tight deadlines. We are confident that with their help SeeSaw will be a resounding success when it launches in the coming months."
