Signiant 2011 NAB Show Preview Booth SL5229

Date: 07/02/2011
Signiant Media Exchange
Media Exchange (MX) is a highly secure browser-based application that enables IT and non-IT managers and staff to send content bigger than e-mail can handle to where it needs to be faster and more easily than ever before. Users working from their offices or production sites, or even from home, can exchange content with other employees, customers, systems, and applications regardless of location and size of digital assets. Signiant has enhanced Media Exchange so that media and project files can be moved across WAN, DSL, or cable, and has added new notification features allowing users to track workflow benchmarks, confirmations, and alerts for other departments such as accounting and finance. Additionally, an even greater range of custom workflow options is now available through enhanced integration with Signiant's full system via the Media Gateway application.

Content Distribution Management (CDM) Software, Version 9.0
At the 2011 NAB Show, Signiant will be demonstrating version 9.0 of CDM. CDM now includes two new software modules that allow media and IT-oriented enterprises to manage their content even better. The new Media Gateway module streamlines the transfer and sharing of large files between individuals and organizations and the Resource Management module adds powerful new capabilities for queuing delivery of assets and managing network bandwidth. Operations can now prioritize the delivery of assets based upon attributes such as revenue, margins, service level requirements, and news deadlines with either automated or manual delivery to B2B partners or to buyers, and can match internal business rules and workflows. Additionally, version 9.0 expands integration with directory systems utilizing Enterprise-level authentication servers, resulting in enhanced security and allowing Signiant to be used by up to tens of thousands of employees within an organization.

Signiant Community
Signiant recently introduced a new forum that allows IT and media content professionals to share information about best practices, technologies, and platforms. The Signiant Community is an effort by Signiant to magnify the benefits of its collaborative workflows by connecting its rapidly expanding customer base. This initiative encourages users to innovate and collaborate with industry peers they might not otherwise meet.

Company Overview
Signiant is the creator of pioneering software that automates, accelerates, manages, and securely controls the movement of high-value digital content within and between organizations and ecosystems. Signiant solutions go far beyond simple file transport to streamline content supply chain management operations from production through distribution and upload of digital files - enabling customers to build new business models, reduce costs, and integrate with existing investments. Headquartered in Burlington, Mass., with development facilities in Ottawa, Signiant has hundreds of enterprise organizations deployed in more than 50 countries.

Client Quote:
"We're very excited to be showing the new capabilities of our Media Exchange and CDM products at NAB this year," said Rick Clarkson, senior director of product management for Signiant. "Given the need to rapidly expand and manage the delivery of ever-larger digital files and content, we're able to provide a critical application to the industry that quickly reduces costs, improves productivity, and heightens security."

Cobalt Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor Posted: 12/10/2021
Cobalt and reg; Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear and reg; 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor

Cobalt® Digital, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning edge devices for live video production and master control, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, has answered the need for handling and processing multiple video feeds with its 9905-MPx multi-channel processor. The 9905-MPx is a next-generation advanced scaler/frame openGear synchronizer developed in direct response to customer needs for a single module that supports four independent signal paths. The card was highlighted during a press briefing held virtually on October 6th and hosted by Suzana Brady, Cobalt’s SVP Worldwide Sales & Marketing, who noted that the 9905-MPx was developed in response to customer requests for increased density, unprecedented multi-input support, and enhanced flexibility. The event also featured presentations by Dr. Ciro Noronha, EVP of Engineering, and Ryan Wallenberg, VP of Engineering. The 9905-MPx, an audio/video processor for baseband digital signals, is capable of handling up to four independent 3G signals in a single, dense, cost-effective package that provides all common broadcast processing functions without any quality compromises. The card includes individual up/down/cross conversion scalers that are specifically designed for broadcast video formats, with full ARC control suitable for conversions to/from 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. The multi-path design offers discrete AES and MADI audio embedding/routing/mixing/de-embedding to any of the four processing paths. Standard 3D LUT features and available color correction accommodate SDR and HDR processing for downstream HDR systems, on a per-channel basis. The card also supports per-channel logo insertion, as well as ancillary data insertion/extraction.
