CJP Announces Streamstar NDX 400 IP NDI Remote Live Production System

Now available from CJP Broadcast, the new Streamstar NDX 400 is an all-in-one live production and streaming studio designed for applications such as television and radio newscasting, educational programme-making, conference coverage and esports. Integral resources include four-channel camera control, four-input vision mixing, audio mixing, video and audio recording, graphics and character generation, playlist support, multi-view monitoring and live stream encoding. The complete system is housed in a 2U chassis.

"The NDX 400 elevates mobile content production and streamcasting to an entirely new level and at a very affordable price," says CJP Broadcast Sales & Service Coordinator Kieran Phillips. "It is very easy to transport, quick to set up and a pleasure to operate. Entire projects can be managed by a single operator if IP-linked remote pan/tilt/zoom cameras are used. Incoming feeds can be mixed for live delivery or recorded for later transmission, supplemented by content from the system's internal media player."

4:4:4:4 AlphaRGB video signal processing is used to ensure high quality graphics and overlays. Many production processes within the system can be preset. These include automated camera switching, automated vision mixer transitions, automated graphics ingest, CG sequencing and crawl, automated scene management and automated playlist handling.

Broadpeak Makes High-Quality 5G Video Experiences a Reality With MobiledgeX Edge Compute Infrastructure Posted: 02/06/2020
Broadpeak Makes High-Quality 5G Video Experiences a Reality With MobiledgeX Edge Compute Infrastructure

Broadpeak®, a leading provider of content delivery network (CDN) and video streaming solutions for content providers and pay-TV operators worldwide, today announced its 5G video work with MobiledgeX, Inc., a Deutsche Telekom-founded company making the edge widely available and easier to access. Broadpeak has deployed its virtual BroadCache Box local caching technology for mobile networks via the MobiledgeX Edge-Cloud platform that aggregates more than a dozen global mobile networks to expose one common interface to developers. As part of MobiledgeX's early access program, Broadpeak has successfully tested its virtual BroadCache Box applications on MobiledgeX's federation of edge networks, demonstrating the ability to reduce video delivery costs and improve QoE for mobile video delivered over 5G networks.

When video content is streamed from a location closer to end users, latency and network congestion are reduced, resulting in higher video bit rates, faster start times, and uninterrupted viewing sessions. By using Broadpeak's virtual BroadCache Box, content providers can significantly boost subscriber QoE for video delivered over next-gen mobile networks. This supports engagements with an expanding crop of OTT players eager to reach subscribers anywhere.

Anevia Adds Multi-tiered Storage to its Cloud DVR Storage Offering Posted: 20/05/2020
Anevia Adds Multi-tiered Storage to its Cloud DVR Storage Offering

Anevia announces the addition of multi-tiered storage to its Cloud DVR storage offering, Embedded Distributed Storage (EDS). This new feature makes EDS even more cost-efficient and scalable while also enabling storage in the cloud – meaning the solution becomes both flexible and elastic.

TV service providers are increasingly enriching their VOD content and need to expand their storage capacity without a commensurate increase in the number of users. The original hyper-convergent design of the scalable, high-performance EDS calls for more servers to be added to increase streaming and storage capacity in parallel. Multi-tiered storage means it is now possible to also increase storage capacity independently of streaming capacity.

With only a small fraction of the VOD catalogue being consumed regularly, long-tail content can be stored more efficiently and cost-effectively on general-purpose ‘cold storage’ support used by the IT departments. This eliminates the need to buy new servers and the related software licences, cutting both the complexity and the cost of scaling for a given number of users.

The newly introduced feature also enables object storage, which opens up the possibility of storing in the public or private cloud. This brings the advantages of scalability, flexibility and elasticity.

CJPs Kieran Phillips to Live-Broadcast Sponsored Head Shave Posted: 27/04/2020
CJPs Kieran Phillips to Live-Broadcast Sponsored Head Shave

Kieran Phillips, Sales & Service Coordinator at CJP Broadcast, will be live broadcasting his sponsored head shave on Tuesday April 28th to support St Michael's Hospice in Hereford. This will be accessible at https://youtu.be/utwavyouVFs and shared across social media. Donations are invited via https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/kieran-phillips4.

"We know how important the services provided by St Michael's are," Kieran comments. "They include a wide range of nursing, social and spiritual care for home-based and hospice-based patients, guidance and counselling for families, and practical resources for healthcare professionals. The Covid-19 pandemic has reduced the level of financial support many important charities are receiving at a time when they need that income more than ever. This sponsored head shave is one way in which we can try to offset the impact of the virus. We will also be working in conjunction with Luke Sutton Productions to make a promotional video for St. Michael's."

"Organisations such as St Michael's Hospice that totally rely on donations and fundraising are desperately in need of support to be able to continue their incredible work throughout and beyond this awful crisis," adds CJP Broadcast's Managing Director Chris Phillips. "We hope that our small contribution raises awareness of the work these compassionate and caring healthcare professionals provide to people and their families.”

GB Labs, the leader in intelligent storage solutions, has announced that the latest version of its Analytics Centre, a dashboard that runs seamlessly in GB Labs’ SPACE, ECHO, and VAULT intelligent storage devices, will now include full access traceability.

Of interest to everyone that requires storage, Analytics Centre continuously analyses how data handled by the storage system is being used. Moreover, it now includes a significantly updated interface that includes full data logging and full, detailed tracking capabilities that we’re excited to demonstrate for the first time.”
