Sony debuts at the Media Production Show to and lsquo;Make Migration Awesome and rsquo;

Sony will make its Media Production Show debut at this year’s event to showcase how organisations can transform traditional media supply chains and unlock more value from their content by harnessing the power of cloud-based technologies. Visitors to the Media Production Show can discover cloud-native solutions and services within Sony’s new Intelligent Media Services (IMS) division which allows customers to capture, manage and deliver more engaging content faster to an unprecedented range of distribution platforms, no matter where they are.
At the show, Sony will demonstrate how scalable and flexible cloud-based production services help create a more agile and efficient production and distribution environment. Additionally, Sony will showcase its connected 4K HDR handheld camcorders that come with advanced wireless production features, the PXW-Z280, PXW-FS7 II and PXW-Z90, as well as the following: its on-demand cloud production service Virtual Production, its cloud-based workflow service XDCAM air for connected stream and file management, Xperia 1 to demonstrate the wireless capabilities of XDCAM pocket app, Sony’s content management and workflow solution Media Backbone NavigatorX and Ci Media Cloud for efficient production and delivery.
Sony’s Barbara Rosseel (Strategic Market Lead) will deliver a seminar titled “Make Migration Awesome: When are you planning on ‘going cloud’?” on Wednesday 12th June at 11.30am in the Technology & Post Creative Hub, together with ITN’s Olly Strous (Head of Post Production) and Amazon Web Services’ Lee Atkinson (Principal Solutions Architect). The session will explore the changing world of media production and broadcasting and, with first-hand customer insights, will also discuss the impact of key industry trends and innovations, such as IoT, the cloud, social platforms and 5G.
