DVB Adds HDR Dynamic Mapping to Its Audiovisual Coding Specifications

DVB, an industry consortium that develops open interoperable technical specifications for the delivery of digital media and broadcast services, today announced a new revision to its specification for the use of video and audio coding in broadcast and broadband applications to include solutions for HDR Dynamic Mapping (DM). The solutions allow a receiver, such as a TV set, to adapt a High Dynamic Range video signal to the characteristics of the display. The revised specification was approved by the DVB Steering Board in Geneva on 3 July 2019.

AIMS Adopts IS-04 Specification, Which Will Make It Easier to Create and Change Connections Between IP-Enabled Devices Posted: 23/01/2017
AIMS Adopts IS-04 Specification, Which Will Make It Easier to Create and Change Connections Between IP-Enabled Devices
The Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS) today announced that it has added the IS-04 specification to its roadmap. IS-04 will bring critical uniformity to the use of video, audio, and ancillary data on a network of devices. The specification is important because it defines how IP-enabled devices can discover each other and connect compatible IP streams as part of a workflow. Furthermore, IS-04 automates that process, making discovery and connection more fluid than in a conventional SDI environment.
