FOR-A FT-ONE-SS4K Ultra High-Speed Cameras Capture 4K Footage at 1,000 fps for Live Production Posted: 07/04/2020
FOR-A FT-ONE-SS4K Ultra High-Speed Cameras Capture and nbsp;4K Footage at 1,000 fps for Live Production

As audience appetites for sports coverage continue to increase, FOR-A Corporation of America offers a range of FT-ONE variable frame rate cameras to deliver the action in super slow motion. Recent advances now allow playback of 4K video at up to 1,000 frames per second to provide incredible detail for live broadcast applications.

“Sports continue to be a driving factor in the need for high frame rate cameras, and nobody delivers instant replays like FOR-A,” explained Ken Truong, President of FOR-A Corporation of America. “Our FT-ONE special purpose cameras are designed for super-slo-mo 4K acquisition of sports and other live event footage, and can be combined with other FOR-A tools to deliver unprecedented replay flexibility.”

For example, several FT-ONE-SS4K cameras were used for critical ultra-slo-mo replays during the live broadcast of the 2019 Champions League final in Madrid, as well as other high-profile live sports event across the world. The exceptional feature of the FT-ONE-SS4K is “brightness.” When equipped with a B4 bayonet lens, the camera shoots footage up to four times brighter than models with a PL lens. Plus, the FT-ONE-SS4K shoots up to 1,000 fps in 4K, offers simultaneous record and playback with internal memory, and features independent real-time 4K or HD output. Other features include 24-axis color correction and compatibility with Canon’s OLED viewfinder.

International Motor Sports Association in Talks to Use TVU RPS After Demonstration from Al Kamel Posted: 22/11/2019
International Motor Sports Association in Talks to Use TVU RPS After Demonstration from Al Kamel

Al Kamel Systems, recently demonstrated their Sports Timing and TV Graphics service, to the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) using TVU Networks TVU Remote Production System (RPS) for cost efficiency and sustainability in reducing CO2 emissions. The IMSA, North America’s premier sports car organization, is a subsidiary of NASCAR that organizes the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, Michelin Pilot Challenge and more.

Al Kamel Systems worked with TVU Networks earlier in the year for its production of the Credit Andorrà G-Series electric car Snow Rally Championships. The company deployed TVU RPS, an at-home/REMI production solution that synchronizes multiple feeds for cost-effective production from a remote studio location. Following its success using TVU RPS for the coverage of the event, Al Kamel gave a demonstration of the same solution to IMSA.

IMSA had interest in using Al Kamel’s Sports Timing and TV Graphics of which TVU RPS is an integral part. The ability to set the video delay was a key advantage. Al Kamel had the opportunity to test TVU RPS at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida and with the help of TVU RPS, Al Kamel was able to deliver its Remote Time Keeping and TV Graphics to its headquarters in La Garriga, Spain. TVU RPS performed perfectly, with 2 second delay in real time.

“TVU RPS completely passed the test and made our demonstration a success,” said Sergi Galbany, Operations Director at Al Kamel. “We are hoping that its proven strength and reliability will continue to aid IMSA in its operations next year.”

“TVU is thrilled about the prospect of contributing to the production of some of the most anticipated events in the motor sports world,” said David Jorba, Managing Director, Europe at TVU Networks. “Our continued collaboration with Al Kamel is making cost-effective, powerful solutions for video production available to more and more people.”

TVU Networks has over 3,000 customers globally. The TVU Networks family of IP transmission and live production solutions gives broadcasters and organizations a powerful and reliable workflow to distribute live video content to broadcast, online and mobile platforms. TVU has become a critical part of the operations of many major media companies. The TVU Networks suite of solutions has been used to acquire, transmit, produce, manage and distribute professional-quality live IP HD footage as an integral part of news, sports and major global events.
