Gekko to introduce lenslite D-SLR mount at IBC2011 Posted: 23/09/2011

The D-SLR mount allows direct attachment of the lenslite lamphead to Canon 5D, 7D and Nikon D3 cameras. Fixing directly to the base of the camera via the tripod screw, the mount secures 15 millimetre bars which hold the lamphead on axis around the lens. The base of the mount has an additional fixing so the camera/lenslite combination can still be mounted on a tripod, but with the centre of gravity moved forward for stability.

Strong interest in Gekko LED lighting reported at BVE 2011 Posted: 02/03/2011
Gekko Technology reports an outstandingly successful Broadcast Video Expo 2011, held in London 15-17 February. Figures issued by the organisers state that the event attracted over 15,500 visitors and 240 exhibiting companies.

"BVE 2011 was the hardest three days of my life!" comments Gekko Technology's Business Development Manager Ian Muir. "The number of serious visitors to our stand during the show's three-day duration was certainly on a par with last September's IBC. We talked to a good mix of traditional broadcasters, cameramen and film people, largely from Britain. The merits of LEDs are really getting through. People understand and appreciate the broad spectral quality of Gekko lights, the portability, high energy efficiency and long component life. They also recognise the huge creative potential offered by variable-colour-temperature fixtures. Broadcasters are now routinely ordering complete LED-based systems rather than supplementing installations based on less efficient technologies."

Litepanels in Zagreb for Nova TV: Savings potential with 1x1 Posted: 09/02/2011
The news studio of the Croatian commercial television network Nova TV, one of the most modern and largest television studios in the country, was re-equipped to support HD last year. As part of this process, 1x1 LED lights by Litepanels, a Vitec Group brand, were chosen to provide the perfect lighting for the well-known news program Dnevnik Nove TV.

Nova TV is one of the most important commercial TV stations in Croatia. Adapted casting show concepts such as American Idol, telenovelas from South America and American hit series guarantee high ratings. Additionally, the daily news program Dnevnik Nove TV is very popular with its viewers. The show has been filmed in HD since 2010. "We knew that with this switch, we would have to source lighting equipment of a higher quality than the traditional halogen fixtures we had been using previously," explains Miljenko Logozar, Technical Director at Nova TV.
