PBT EU and Linxstream Media and nbsp;form and nbsp;a strategic partnership to provide localization services across the Middle East

Well-established systems integrator PBT EU is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with leading post-production, localization, and entertainment company, Linxstream Media. The partnership launches with the creation of Linxstream Media’s PixelSub; a cloud-based platform for managing localization, dubbing and timed-text services.

IABM-member PBT EU provided the underlying technology to power PixelSub by integrated business management software LAPIS from Profuz Digital with timed-text application SubtitleNEXT. Together, the resulting hybrid platform (“NEXT-TT”) provides a technology base which can be highly customised to produce precisely targeted management and localization workflows.

Linxstream Media then applied their unique localization knowledge to the base technology to create PixelSub, which is a product aimed at helping enterprises, collaborators and single users monetize and streamline localization projects efficiently, while combining the advantages of the cloud and desktop.

SYSMEDIA SIGNS OEM PARTNER CUSTOMER AGREEMENT WITH ANYWARE VIDEO Posted: 26/09/2011
SYSMEDIA SIGNS OEM PARTNER CUSTOMER AGREEMENT WITH ANYWARE VIDEO

SysMedia and Anyware Video have signed an OEM partner agreement that licences the Marseille-based manufacturer of on-air graphics packages to use SysMedias live subtitling protocols. Anyware Video customers will now benefit from a more efficient subtitling workflow, as a value-add to Anywares CastGenie on-air graphics package offering, without the need for separate subtitle insertion hardware.

The agreement also allows Anyware Video to support its Cast Genie users by incorporating SysMedias renowned WinCAPS subtitling software to supplement the existing subtitling capabilities of the on-air graphics system. The complete SysMedia and Anyware end-to-end package then satisfies many common subtitling workflows both for delivering quality live subtitles and for playout of offline subtitles, using the CastGenie hardware or SysMedia Plasma teletext systems or DVB encoders.

Andrew Lambourne, SysMedia CEO, says, The synergies between the products of SysMedia and Anyware mean that this partnership can really help to improve the customer proposition - particularly in the area of live subtitling.

Softel Launches MultiText for Streamlined Multilanguage Subtitle Caption Processing Posted: 31/08/2010
Softel Launches MultiText for Streamlined Multilanguage Subtitle Caption Processing Softel today announced MultiText, a new option for the industry-leading Swift(TM) vTX and Swift TX subtitling encoding and transmission systems. MultiText greatly simplifies the playout of complex multilanguage broadcast subtitles, reducing operational costs and increasing productivity while enhancing quality through built-in automated quality control procedures.

Swift vTX with MultiText is a solution for binding multilingual rich-text formatted subtitle streams to video files and then transcoding them using Swift TX at transmission time from SDI into any of the common transmission formats (typically DVB bitmap or Open burnt-in). For every language stream, each subtitle is encoded frame by frame, with associated metadata, into the original video file.

YOUTUBE AUTO-CAPS: HYPE OR HELP Posted: 23/12/2009
YOUTUBE AUTO-CAPS: HYPE OR HELP While admirable in its intention, Google-owned video service YouTube's automatic captions should not yet be seen by anyone as being a cheap substitute for human subtitlers, says SysMedia CEO Andrew Lambourne.

Google's recent announcement of the introduction of automatic captions (auto-caps) for YouTube caused a predictable flurry in the world of subtitling as people wondered just how good their automatic speech recognition technology would prove to be.
