Eurofins Digital Testing Announces the Establishment of an HbbTV Application Test Centre with the Support of Samsung Electronics Posted: 20/02/2017
Eurofins Digital Testing (Eurofins) announced today they will develop an HbbTV Application Test Centre in co-operation with Samsung Electronics (Samsung) for testing HbbTV Applications on HbbTV enabled TVs. HbbTV Applications are interactive applications that deliver additional functionality such as video-on-demand and are designed to run on TVs compliant with the HbbTV specification. As the lead supporter, Samsung will provide the initial TV platforms for conducting the compatibility tests. These platforms include an enhanced debug mode which allows the gathering of additional data to diagnose issues. Samsung will also provide technical assistance to the program to assist app developers to run their applications on Samsung TVs.

TVU Networks to Showcase Full Line of IP Video Solutions at NAB 2017 Posted: 17/02/2017

TVU Networks will concentrate its efforts at this years NAB convention around demonstrating its hardware and software ecosystem for IP video. A full range of current and new TVU solutions, including the MLink TE4500 H.265/HEVC rack-mount encoder, TVU RPS (Remote Production System), TVU One mobile IP transmitter, and TVU Anywhere app will be on display in TVUs NAB booth (C3739) this April. Rohde and Schwarz Hosting Series of Repacking Advanced Technology Events Posted: 14/02/2017

From March 6th through March 9th, premier transmitter, test and measurement and studio equipment manufacturer, Rohde & Schwarz USA, will host a series of educational events throughout the U.S. The Repacking Advanced Technology Events (RATE) are directed at broadcasters and any technical personnel involved in transitioning a TV station to a new channel as a result of the FCC Spectrum Act. (The Act mandates that 1,200 repacked U.S. TV stations be fully operational with a new transmitter in 2019. Repacking refers to the process of reassigning broadcast TV channels to a smaller portion of the TV band to free up spectrum for wireless use.)
