The sky is the limit for 4K IMAX HDR and quot;Sully with Baselight Posted: 06/10/2016

Technicolor LA recently gave Clint Eastwoods biographical drama Sully the full Baselight HDR colour grade treatment to achieve its pristine look for IMAX. Produced by Malpaso Productions, the film tells the true story of pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, portrayed by Tom Hanks, and applauds him as a hero after he safely landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River in New York back in 2009, saving 155 lives.

Technicolor Postworks creates colour for Cafe Society Posted: 18/08/2016

Technicolor PostWorks New York completed the finishing on Cafe Society, Woody Allens first digital motion picture as a director, which was captured by legendary cinematographer Vittorio Storaro. The film opened the 2016 Cannes Film Festival and was released in the United States last month.

Technicolor Donates to SMPTE Centennial Campaign Posted: 14/04/2015

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers(R) (SMPTE(R)), one of the worldwide leaders in motion-imaging standards and education for the communications, media, entertainment, and technology industries, today announced that Technicolor has pledged a contribution to The Next Century Fund of the SMPTE Centennial Campaign. Technicolor's gift, formally recognized today at the 2015 NAB Show's Technology Summit on Cinema, produced in partnership with SMPTE, brings the campaign contribution total to nearly $1.5 million.

Technicolor helps launch Gravity into orbit Posted: 16/10/2013
Director Alfonso Cuarn's Gravity is a stunning visual achievement, with universal raves for the films cinematography - created by director of photography, Emmanuel Chivo Lubezki, ASC.  Cuarn and his team, fashioned a production pipeline perfectly suited to capture stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooneys intimate performances set against a narrative of survival in space.  That pipeline began during the films principal photography and the development of special effects and lighting rigs which facilitated the films incredible simulation of zero-gravity then photographed against a more traditional green-screen approach.

Technicolor (Euronext Paris: TCH) has completed extensive post-production, including sound and vision work, on a new adaptation of William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet.

The tragic story of star-crossed lovers has been adapted for screen by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes and is directed by Carlo Carlei (Fluke) with Amber Entertainment, Indiana Production Company and Swarovski Entertainment taking production credits.
