The task of capturing the concert-going experience as vividly and authentically as possible was assigned to the Hilversum-based media full service and broadcast specialist United, as the company part of the Euro Media Group (EMG) had already established a tremendous reputation in the field with its spectacular live recordings of acts like Coldplay and Andrea Bocelli.

The Netherlands inaugurates new king intercom systems from RTS ensure flawless communication Posted: 17/06/2013
After 33 years on the throne, Queen Beatrix abdicated in favor of her son Willem-Alexander on April 30th. The event the first inauguration of a Dutch king for 124 years was followed by a television audience of millions around the world. The company responsible for most of the TV production was Hilversum-based UNITED, which captured images from three key locations: the royal palace on the Dam, Museum Square and the royal barge as it toured the canals of the capital. Five OB trucks were used to broadcast the festivities, along with just under 100 cameras, ten uplink trucks and 350 employees. This production differed from others primarily in its sheer importance, recalls Bolke Burnaby Lautier, Manager Operations Sports and Events with UNITED. With literally millions of viewers following the event live all over the world on TV, any technical failure could have proved catastrophic.

UBF assures communications with RTS equipment for concerts by Coldplay, Andrea Bocelli and Andr and copy; Rieu Posted: 29/11/2012

Among the rock and classical highlights of the 2012 concert season were the sell-out appearances of Coldplay in the Stade de France in Paris, Andrea Bocelli in the open air in Portofino (Italy), and Andr© Rieu in Maastricht. Three superstars from quite different musical traditions but with one thing in common: all three relied on the Hilversum-based broadcast service provider United Broadcast Facilities (UBF) for the recording of their acclaimed performances. And with good reason, because all three were planning to release DVDs of the concerts in question. Only state-of-the-art quality, then, would suffice.
