FOR-A FT-ONE-SS4K Ultra High-Speed Cameras Capture and nbsp;4K Footage at 1,000 fps for Live Production

As audience appetites for sports coverage continue to increase, FOR-A Corporation of America offers a range of FT-ONE variable frame rate cameras to deliver the action in super slow motion. Recent advances now allow playback of 4K video at up to 1,000 frames per second to provide incredible detail for live broadcast applications.

“Sports continue to be a driving factor in the need for high frame rate cameras, and nobody delivers instant replays like FOR-A,” explained Ken Truong, President of FOR-A Corporation of America. “Our FT-ONE special purpose cameras are designed for super-slo-mo 4K acquisition of sports and other live event footage, and can be combined with other FOR-A tools to deliver unprecedented replay flexibility.”

For example, several FT-ONE-SS4K cameras were used for critical ultra-slo-mo replays during the live broadcast of the 2019 Champions League final in Madrid, as well as other high-profile live sports event across the world. The exceptional feature of the FT-ONE-SS4K is “brightness.” When equipped with a B4 bayonet lens, the camera shoots footage up to four times brighter than models with a PL lens. Plus, the FT-ONE-SS4K shoots up to 1,000 fps in 4K, offers simultaneous record and playback with internal memory, and features independent real-time 4K or HD output. Other features include 24-axis color correction and compatibility with Canon’s OLED viewfinder.

XL Events Supplies the Queens Diamond Jubilee Concert

Responding to a commission from the shows Lighting Designer, Durham Marenghi, XL Events Project Manager, Steve Greetham, worked for several weeks to specify and supply equipment and crew, both for the stunning projection mapping onto Buckingham Palace, and the onstage wraparound LED screens and IMAG cameras for the concert stage. This was cleverly built around the Queen Victoria Monument in front of the Palace.

XL Events also provided the monitoring which was utilized by D3 Technologies for the video mapping and playback of video on the Palace. The animation was commissioned by Sam Pattinson, creative director for the projections, using content from a number of different animators.

XL Events also provided approximately 600 tiles of Pixled FX-11 LED which formed the large wraparound screen on the main crown-shaped concert stage.

The onstage provision was managed by Crew Chief, Graham Vinall, with the screens providing an essential part of the show for the public, both in the crowd and at home.

Steve Greetham comments : "XL Events is very proud to have played a part in this historic event. Working in Her Majesty's front garden presents some very unique challenges, and our crew more than rose to the occasion. The extremely positive reaction to our work is fantastic!"
