Visionary Solutions 2013 NAB Show Preview

Date: 12/02/2013
2013 NAB SHOW EXHIBITOR PREVIEW

Visionary Solutions, Inc. -- Booth SU6021

At the 2013 NAB Show, Visionary Solutions, Inc. (VSI) will showcase the latest advancements in its comprehensive portfolio of IPTV and Internet encoding products, designed to support a wide variety of applications. VSI will demonstrate a brand new decoder as well as showcase PackeTV(R) Mobile, a powerful HTTP-based media streaming solution that simplifies multiscreen video delivery. Also at the booth will be a new VSI bundle that combines PackeTV Mobile with the company's flagship AVN encoders.

Key Products and Technology Demos

Take a Sneak Peek at the NEW VSI Decoder
At the 2013 NAB Show, VSI will preview its new SDI (3G/HD/SD) and HDMI(R) output professional decoder -- the D1000. Capable of full 1080p60, the D1000 bridges the gap between expensive IRDs and consumer STBs. The D1000 will fit into the same chassis systems (MPP1700 and MPP200) as all other VSI blade encoders.

PackeTV(R) Mobile
At the 2013 NAB Show, VSI will highlight PackeTV(R) Mobile, an HTTP-based media streaming communications system that simplifies the delivery of live and file-based content, enabling content administrators to deploy IP video to any connected device, including mobile phones, tablets, and set-top boxes. Built on an entirely server-based design, PackeTV Mobile can be cost-effectively deployed on any public or private network where HTTP access is allowed and scaled to provide superior-quality streaming video content to an unlimited number of users.

Ideal for a broad range of markets, spanning broadcast, professional A/V, telecommunications, corporate, government, education, and houses of worship, PackeTV Mobile supports standard and high-definition HTTP Live Streaming (HLS), with H.264 video and AAC audio providing users with a high degree of flexibility.

AVN443 Encoder and PackeTV(R) Mobile Bundle
During the 2013 NAB Show, VSI will demonstrate integration between its popular AVN443 encoder and PackeTV(R) Mobile media streaming system. Prior to video delivery, Visionary Solutions' AVN443 IPTV encoders transform content from SDI (SD/HD/3G) or HDMI(R) (DVI-D with optional adapter cable) sources into full-screen, full-resolution, IP digital video in real time. Capable of encoding both HD and SD video in an H.264 stream (MPEG-4 Part 10/AVC), the AVN443 is the ideal encoding solution for content administrators requiring cost-effective, low bit rate, HD/SD video distribution over IP networks. After content is encoded, VSI's PackeTV Mobile converts transport streams into HLS, ensuring a superior quality of experience on any IP-connected device. When used together, the AVN and PackeTV systems dramatically simplify IP video delivery.

Company Overview:
Since 1995, VSI products have been installed in facilities spanning the government, enterprise, educational, hospitality, and digital signage industries. VSI's professional IP Video solutions offer easy integration with any existing or new IPTV, broadcast, and pro A/V system, allowing integrators to buy the exact products they require. VSI customers also benefit from flexible, competitive pricing.

Cobalt Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor Posted: 12/10/2021
Cobalt and reg; Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear and reg; 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor

Cobalt® Digital, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning edge devices for live video production and master control, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, has answered the need for handling and processing multiple video feeds with its 9905-MPx multi-channel processor. The 9905-MPx is a next-generation advanced scaler/frame openGear synchronizer developed in direct response to customer needs for a single module that supports four independent signal paths. The card was highlighted during a press briefing held virtually on October 6th and hosted by Suzana Brady, Cobalt’s SVP Worldwide Sales & Marketing, who noted that the 9905-MPx was developed in response to customer requests for increased density, unprecedented multi-input support, and enhanced flexibility. The event also featured presentations by Dr. Ciro Noronha, EVP of Engineering, and Ryan Wallenberg, VP of Engineering. The 9905-MPx, an audio/video processor for baseband digital signals, is capable of handling up to four independent 3G signals in a single, dense, cost-effective package that provides all common broadcast processing functions without any quality compromises. The card includes individual up/down/cross conversion scalers that are specifically designed for broadcast video formats, with full ARC control suitable for conversions to/from 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. The multi-path design offers discrete AES and MADI audio embedding/routing/mixing/de-embedding to any of the four processing paths. Standard 3D LUT features and available color correction accommodate SDR and HDR processing for downstream HDR systems, on a per-channel basis. The card also supports per-channel logo insertion, as well as ancillary data insertion/extraction.
