NEP aces UHD HDR support for Wimbledon with Grass Valley IP Infrastructure

NEP UKsupported the first UHD HDR live production of the 2018 Wimbledon Tennis Championship with IP infrastructure from Grass Valley, a Belden Brand. NEP’s latest SMPTE ST 2110 trucks, Venus and Ceres, were deployed to support the newly formed host broadcaster, Wimbledon Broadcast Services(WBS). |

The contract will see NEP UK continue its long-standing 35-year relationship with The All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) to deliver technical facilities for its in house production of The Championships as part of Wimbledon Broadcast Services. |

Roll to Record, NEP's U.K.-based provider of custom studios and control rooms, has installed a console from Calrec Audio in its permanent studio operation at the Wimbledon TV Studios complex in London. The permanent installation eliminates the need to install a flyaway console every time NEP does a show at Wimbledon Studios, saving both time and money.

RG Jones Sound Engineering, provider of all live audio and communications solutions for the tournament, deployed the Riedel intercom solutions for use by Hawk-Eye operators, statistics collectors, scoreboard operators, and other staff, including the team supporting on-court presentations following the victory of the U.K.'s Andy Murray over world No. 1 Novak Djokovic in the men's final. |

Sony has today announced a technology tie-up with BT Sport through BTs Lead partnership with Timeline Television which will see the company provide the latest High Definition camera and support equipment for the new BT Sport facility located at Queen Elizabeth II Park. Sonys advanced technology solution will see three Sony MVS-7000X Vision Mixers, five MVS-3000 Vision Mixers, fifteen HDC-2400 studio cameras, as well as the latest Sony TriMaster OLED monitors rolled out across the three new studios at the facility. Sony has worked in close partnership with Megahertz, systems integrator on the project, and the BT Sport project team to design and implement the most robust technical solution at the new facility which will support the launch of the new BT Sport channels on 1st August. |

A DK-2 multi-rate linear downstream keyer from the geNETics range is on duty in southwest London, providing digital graphics to support live transmission of the 2013 Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. Equipped with a VP-10 video T-bar module and installed in an FB-9E chassis, the keyer is being used by a major outside-broadcast service provider to process overlays such as contestant identifiers which can be faded in and out over the live action. |

Robotic cameras and control systems from Camera Corps (a Vitec Group company) have been chosen as key elements in coverage of the 2013 Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Championships. Q-Ball remotely controlled pan/tilt/zoom/focus cameras, MiniShot remote pan/tilt heads with Hitachi DKH-100 cameras, long-range optical and electro-optical video/audio links, joystick control panels and RCP remote camera control panels are being installed for the duration of the event.
