Autodesk Flame Enhancements Fuel 4K UltraHD and HDR Content Creation and Delivery

Today, Autodesk introduced new updates to Flame, Flare, and Flame Assist, including a host of features that empower artists to meet the challenges of increasing content demands and client expectations, while further streamlining workflows to manage high-end 4K/UltraHD and HDR content. Some tool enhancements include new HDR-enabled color curves in MasterGrade, improvements for faster conforms, and upgraded video preview options of up to 4K/UltraHD content via single cable 12G-SDI connectivity.

Autodesk Propels Creative Finishing Workflows into the Future

Autodesk unveiled more than 40 user-driven improvements to Flame today that simplify the artist’s day-to-day and boost creative collaboration. Building on machine learning (ML) capabilities that address specific tasks in Flame, this update brings ML to Flame’s core toolset in the form of next-gen camera tracking technology. The new camera tracker delivers remarkable automatic camera solves and 3D geometry output in a matter of minutes. Artists also gain a more robust finishing toolset for color grading through FX and editorial, in addition to Network Device Interface (NDI®) video preview streaming for seamlessly sharing work remotely with creative stakeholders around the world.

Since the acquisition earlier this summer, the expanded development team (triple the number of coding engineers) has been on hyper drive.

Calling All Artists: Showcase Your Work in Autodesks 2012 Animation Show Reel

Every year, the art of animation takes center stage at SIGGRAPH. Autodesk is inviting all 3D artists to submit their work for a chance to be included in this year's Animation Show Reel, which will be showcased at Autodesk's SIGGRAPH booth in Los Angeles, CA from August 7-9. The show reel will also be featured on the Autodesk YouTube Channel, the AREA community and the Autodesk website.

Submissions can be short animations, game cinematics, commercials, broadcast work, music videos, episodic projects, short or feature films, digital media and interactive projects created using any Autodesk Digital Entertainment Creation software and/or Autodesk Gameware products. Autodesk is also interested in receiving high-resolution images to be used for inclusion in marketing materials throughout the year. The deadline for imagery and video content submissions is Friday, June 22, 2012.
