KFX Technology collaborates with MYT Works to debut three new products at NAB 2016

KFX CEO Stephen Scammell said KFX Technology  is located in New York but I started in London, designing and building portable motion control equipment that would function reliably in the extreme conditions encountered in BBCs Frozen Planet series. In 2012 I moved my base to New York and subsequently designed the Aurora Remote Head, which has been very successful and has been used in some of Hollywoods blockbuster movies.

Michos Takes On Music and Dance With OConnor for Langston Hughes Memoire Black Nativity Posted: 24/10/2013
Michos Takes On Music and Dance With OConnor for Langston Hughes Memoire Black Nativity
Music and dance are a big part of the contemporary adaptation of Langston Hughes holiday musical drama, Black Nativity. It follows Langston (Jacob Latimore), a street-wise teen from Baltimore as he journeys to New York City to spend the Christmas holiday with his estranged grandparents. While attending his Grandfathers church production of Black Nativity, Langston falls asleep and escapes into a dreamscape of song, dance, and a little divine intervention. Practically every dance or song number relied on instinct and the ability to whip pan. Snap zoom, or even grab the focus in the process of discovering the most dynamic shots, says cinematographer Anastas Michos, ASC. Thats where my favorite support the OConnor 2575 was invaluable. OConnor is part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company.

Sachtlers Video 18 Dutch Fluid Head for Thoughtful University Film Posted: 24/06/2013
Sachtlers Video 18 Dutch Fluid Head for Thoughtful University Film
"We all have flaws nobody is perfect." Art school graduate Benjamin Pfitzner was guided by this principle during the making of his thesis film George 90°. The film focuses on the cohabitation of handicapped and non-handicapped people, the desire to integrate, and the fallibility of each individual. However, Pfitzner does not rely on tragedy or pity. Using the comedy genre, the every-day problems of a disabled boy are portrayed, which do not differ to those of other teenagers. 19-year-old George is unhappy with himself. He would prefer to be somebody else. The reason: His cervical spine is severely deformed by an approximately 90° bend. He is disabled. For the film, Pfitzner combined a Canon EOS 7D equipped with a PL-Mount with the Video 15 SB fluid head and the Speed Lock CF tripod by Sachtler, part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group brand. Additionally, in some scenes, the Video 18 Dutch was used to portray George's angle as realistically as possible. This fluid head is special because it features a lateral sliding range of the camera plate of up to 60 mm and a lateral tilt range of ±80°, so that the camera can also be perfectly operated in the third axis.

PEC introduce new innovative production tools at BVE 2012. Posted: 12/01/2012
PEC introduce new innovative production tools at BVE 2012.

Among the new products on show will be the Pico Flex Dolly the smallest camera dolly system on the market and Swivi a new innovative location swivel lcd monitor.

One of the most essential products for any one serious about the quality of their video pictures is the location monitor but PEC say the existing products on the market usually require additional mounting accessories and battery solutions and are priced beyond the reach of many customers, either that or they are so low quality you might as well stick with the provided Camera LCD. Swivi is a new and innovative design which adds a large 5.6" Hi Resolution swivel HDMI LCD monitor to almost any camera. For what PEC believes is an incredible price Swivi delivers 600 lines of resolution, HDMI connectivity with loop through, focus peaking and zoom in functions, all this in a design that can attach straight to most cameras.
