LipSync Post handles post-production for new BBC drama 'Death Comes to Pemberley'

'Death Comes to Pemberley', one of the most eagerly anticipated programmes in the UK's Christmas TV schedule this year, was entirely post-produced at LipSync Post in London, with color grading and deliverables carried out on one of the facility's three Quantel Pablo color correction and finishing systems by Senior Colourist, Stuart Fyvie, who completed the grade on all three one hour episodes in just nine days.

London Film Festival winner We Need to Talk about Kevin finished at LipSync Post

It's a dark, challenging and sometimes disturbing film, but Lynne Ramsey's 'We Need to Talk about Kevin' has just been awarded the prestigious Best Film Award at the 2011 London Film Festival.  Finished at London post house LipSync Post 'We Need to Talk about Kevin' relied significantly on LipSync's Quantel Pablo systems to deliver its dramatic cinematic results. Alongside its strong direction and great acting performances, the film's success also reflects the exceptional facilities at LipSync and the touch of expert colorist Stuart Fyvie on his Quantel Pablo color correction system.

LipSync Stereo3D promo green lights Creeping Zero

London-based LipSync Post recently posted a nine minute promo on Pablo for Dan Films'  'Creeping Zero'. The piece, thought to be the first Stereo3D movie promo made, won two ovations at the European Film Market in Berlin (unheard of for a promo), and has been instrumental in helping to secure funding for the movie to go into production. Stereo3D shooting of the full live action movie will commence later this year with release scheduled for 2011.

LipSync Post, the leading Soho full-service post-production facility, has invested in a range of new equipment and major upgrades for its audio, VFX and DI departments. The investment, worth approximately £400,000, demonstrates LipSync's continuing confidence despite the shaky economy, and its ongoing commitment to provide clients with the latest and greatest technology available. Recent high-profile and critically-acclaimed productions include Kick Ass, Fantastic Mr Fox, Nowhere Boy and Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll.

Jon Diamond, Managing Director for the LipSync Group of Companies, said, "Thanks to our talented post-production teams we are welcoming both returning clients and new business to LipSync, and have a very healthy roster of current and future film and television work even in these gloomy times. This investment underlines our commitment to remain at the forefront of the UK post market."

In the audio department, LipSync has upgraded all its Avid Pro Tools systems to version 8, and has installed new HD projectors in each of its mixing theatres in order to give clients better quality pictures to go with their sound edit.

The in-demand VFX department is now equipped with 20 Nuke licences for all its 2D compositing work, and has also expanded its render farm by 30%. In addition it has installed a new hi-res projector in its dedicated VFX screening room.

The DI department also benefits from 3D software which is now available on its three suites - two QuantelPablo systems and one Quantel iQ system - and a JVC 3D monitor has been installed. LipSync is seeing a marked upsurge in 3D interest, with two projects completed and formal discussions progressing on several new 3D productions.

LipSync Post improves efficiency by 50% LipSync Post, the leading London post house, recently installed a Quantel Genetic Engineering shared workflow solution to support its two Quantel Pablo color correction suites and iQ DI system. All three systems can now work with the same shared media without wasting valuable time transferring media between suites or having to manage multiple different versions. As a result, Colorist Lee Clappison estimates that LipSync Post is already benefiting from a 50% improvement in efficiency, and anticipates further gains "as we learn how to get even more out of the new workflow possibilities that Genetic Engineering offers".
