Oook Audio launchesroyalty-freemusic library: New portal will allow video editors to source directly from composers

Oook Audio has today announced the launch of their royalty-free music library, aimed at the professional videography market. It links video editors with high quality compositions, crafted and curated and available via Oook’s easy-to-use portal. Features includes exclusive tracks and a simple licensing mode with a user-centric approach which can be used in films, and across the full range of video sharing websites.

The video production market, including advertising agencies, corporate video producers, small independent producers and individuals making personal videos, currently faces difficulty finding music of the right quality, which is pre-cleared for social media like Facebook Live, Insta stories, YouTube and Vimeo. Once found and licensed, users often complain about the poor availability, choice of track genres and styles and unresponsive and unhelpful customer service.

Oook Audio solves this with an intuitive, user-centric platform with exclusive, high quality, carefully curated royalty free audio tracks. The platform drew on over 100 years of experience its founders had as composers to meet composer requirements as well as those of users. Oook tracks offer affordable music in a wide variety of tracks genres and styles via clear and simple licenses. Features include a search bar that understands the customer’s needs and helps them navigate the library immediately.

Licenses for music are often expensive and legacy licensing models are unclear and hard to understand; some platforms purport to offer royalty-free licenses, but only remove mechanical royalties and the user will still be required to complete a time-consuming cue sheet for each upload. Tracks on the Oook platform, are fully royalty-free and a cue sheet is not required, which vastly improves the user experience. Original audio tracks can be licensed by individuals and professionals for use in personal projects, advertising, internet programmes, TV, radio, any media and multimedia projects.

Tony Cane-Honeysett, Filmmaker and Musician commented: “The last thing I want to be doing as a creative is filling out forms and spending hours working through the bureaucracy of royalties and licenses. It's about time that someone addressed this and designed a platform that makes finding the right audio for my film bearable - as Oook have now done.”

David Bird, Managing Director at Oook Audio commented: “I am delighted to announce the launch of Oook Audio today, a product which will simplify the lives of composers and video makers alike. A composer myself, I and my co-founders were frustrated at our inability to reach a video production market that was crying out for accessible, good quality music. We knew we had to develop it ourselves and the result was Oook: an easy-to-use, user-centric portal, which will satisfy the demands of both users and composers and allow the audience to feel the right emotion for the scene.”

Sarah Bird, Director at Oook Audio added: “Oook cares about its composers as well as its customers and we want to sell good music in an ethical way; our pricing model and customer service reflect that. With over 400 tracks already on the platform, we have made a great start our way to achieving our goal of making Oook Audio the leading platform in the industry.”
