Ikegami Electronics (Europe) announces a major addition to its range of broadcast production cameras. Introduced at the April 2022 NAB Show in Las Vegas and now confirmed for the EAME market, the UHK-X750 is a full studio/OB camera optimised for fixed-mount operation on a pedestal or tripod. Integrated into a robust metal housing designed to ensure extreme ruggedness, it includes high frame-rate capture for slow motion applications, global shutter sensors and versatile connectivity. "The UHK-X750 is intended for production studios and outside broadcast service providers seeking high mastering quality to maximise the commercial longevity of their productions," comments Ikegami Electronics (Europe) Broadcast & Professional Video Division manager Michael Lätzsch. "It offers all the advanced capabilities of Ikegami's flagship Unicam UHK-X700 except for those that apply to portable shoulder operation. Distinguishing elements of the UHK-X750 include a lower centre-of-gravity and easier staging compared to a portable camera." |

Ikegami Announces UHK-X700 2 3-inch 4K-Native Global Shutter 3-CMOS Sensor UNICAM System Camera
|
Posted: 25/02/2021
|
Ikegami announces a major addition to its UNICAM XE 4K system camera series. The UHK-X700 incorporates three newly developed 2/3-inch CMOS 4K sensors with global shutters to eliminate rolling shutter distortion and flash-banding artefacts. "Designed for broadcast-quality video production and online streaming applications, the UHK-X700 looks set to become the flagship of the UNICAM series," comments Michael Lätzsch, Broadcast & Professional Video Division Manager at Ikegami Electronics (Europe). "It provides the high signal quality, versatile connectivity and robust build that are essential in today's multi-resolution media world. That includes full support for high dynamic range imagery with HLG or standard dynamic range, as well as the possibility to independently choose between BT.2020 and BT.709 colour spaces. High frame-rate shooting at up to 2x speed in 4K or up to 8x speed in HD via the base station is possible as an option, for applications such as capturing fast motion in sport or stage events." When combined with the Ikegami BSX-100 base station, the camera optionally supports simultaneous output in 4K/HD video formats, including mixed sources. 4K video is available as a 12G-SDI feed directly from the camera head, allowing the UHK-X700 to be integrated into a wireless system.

Ikegami UHK-430 and HDK-99 cameras have been selected for a recently completed 4K OB vehicle commissioned by Doha 360, an IP-based media platform which enhances Qatar's national identity and reflects social and cultural progress through continuous coverage of cultural, sports and social events.
Designed and built by Milan-based broadcast system integrator Aret Video & Audio Engineering, the vehicle was commissioned in time to cover the Qatar National Day festivities celebrating the country's foundation in 1878.
"The Ikegami cameras were selected both for their high signal quality and for the proven excellence of Ikegami post-sale support," comments Aret's Vice President Alessandro Asti. "Eight UHK-430 models have been purchased plus two docking-style HDK-99. All 10 cameras can be tripod or pedestal mounted to achieve steady long-zoom closeup capture of fast-moving action while retaining the freedom to operate in free-style over-the-shoulder mode. The HDK-99 can be configured to feed directly from the camera control unit into any 4K periphery."

Ikegami Announces BSX-100 3G Fibre Base Station
|
Posted: 15/06/2020
|
Ikegami Electronics Europe (www.ikegami.de) announces a new addition to its range of broadcast production equipment. The BSX-100 is a 3G fibre base station offering a coherent upgrade path for broadcasters and production companies as they progress from SDI to IP, from standard dynamic range to high dynamic range and from high definition into HD/4K dual-format workflow.
The BSX-100 is fully compatible with Ikegami Unicam HD system cameras, including the HDK-99 and HDK-73. It will also support Ikegami's future 4K-native cameras. In its standard form, the base station provides 3G-SDI/HD-SDI HD output.
SMPTE ST.2110 Media over IP interfacing is available as an option for use across 10GbE and 25GbE networks. Also available as an option is a 4K output software key allowing use of HD cameras in a variety of configurations which include simultaneous production in HD and 4K resolutions. Complementary 12G-SDI / 3G-SDI quad link interfaces are also available. This approach allows 3G camera systems to be integrated into 4K environments easily and cost-efficiently.
The Ikegami BSX-100 provides full support for Hybrid Log Gamma in conformance with ITU-R BT.2100 which is the international standard for HDR. Wide colour gamut is also supported.
