Primestream to Debut Extensive AI Integration at IBC2019

Primestream’s asset management platform has long been known for its scripting capabilities allowing media departments to make the most of metadata. Primestream uses metadata to trigger internal and external actions and processes, including 3rd party applications and even console and switcher automation, eliminating the need for outboard workflow automation systems.

Primestream has extended those metadata sources to include Artificial Intelligence engines from all major providers, including AWS, Google, and IBM, and added new AI viewing capabilities at the same time. Primestream stores AI data in its native format and presents the data in the Primestream Elastic Viewer™, which can be customized to display any combination or sources and filters, changed dynamically, and display different types of results on a multi-track timeline against picture.

Companies looking to leverage AI analysis no longer need to work with each source of data separately and merge data either manually or by using a 3rd party aggregator that can increase time and cost of utilizing AI. Since data is stored in its native format and the viewer is customizable, Primestream provides a future-proof capability that allows users to take advantage of new and stronger AI engines as they are introduced without waiting for software upgrades.

Combining AI metadata with Primestream scripting and Adobe® Premiere®, Adobe® Audition®, After Effects®, and Photoshop®, creates an environment where decisions can be automated based on intelligent analysis and benefit the entire organization—all without leaving the applications creatives are using every day.

A key new capability this year is IP-based cellular camera pack acquisition vis HLS and NDI with built-in real-time transcoding to edit formats. This unique capability allows live production using low-cost cellular and Internet infrastructure compared to SDI and satellite; and edit while the content is still arriving.

Primestream is built on a modular architecture, and regardless how content arrives, organizations have the full suite of tools at their disposal for metadata tagging, workflow control, edit application integration, reviews and approvals, and distribution management—including full OTT content prep and XML export. This allows companies to maintain workflows, while adopting the latest technologies, and reducing complexity and infrastructure costs.

Key modules including Primestream Xchange™ and Review Hub™ are now available as on-prem, cloud based, or hybrid deployments. These flexible deployment options allow companies to scale operations up and down on demand as projects are completed.
