Telline Video Broadcast invests in Polecam 7th Heaven Posted: 23/04/2010
polecam acs Telline Video Broadcast, a leading French equipment rental and video production company, has invested in a Polecam 7th Heaven HD rig. Based in Paris, Telline will be using Seventh Heaven for its own video productions with an Iconix HD-RH1 compact remote camera head. The rig was purchased via Polecam's French master reseller, ACS France.
 
"Telline had seen our three Polecam rigs in use at various outside broadcast locations," comments Nicolas Hoffnung of ACS France. "Their production staff were impressed both by the Polecam's unique combination of portability and stability as well as be the speed with which we are able to set up, manoeuvre and de-rig. Telline has ordered a complete system including a remote camera control unit which is scheduled for delivery around the third week of April."

PLAYBOX AND DELTACAST PARTNER FOR HIGH-END I/O PlayBox Technology and DELTACAST have been working together to extend the applications of the DELTA-hd SDI line of input and output boards into PlayBox Technology television solutions. The DELTA-sdi, DELTA-hd, DELTA-key and DELTA-dvi video boards are now supported in PlayBox servers that include AirBox playout, TitleBox CG and CaptureBox ingest high-end applications.
 
Major features driving PlayBox Technology to this decision include the full control of all SDI signal components including VANC (closed captions, Teletext, WSS, timecode), HANC, AES3 audio (including AC-3) and raw SDI frame. The DELTACAST boards also provide automatic bypass relays controlled by power availability, or by a watchdog. Embedding and de-embedding of audio (AES3) and timecode (VITC, LTC, ATC) are also available.

Grass Valley Kalypso HD Switcher Handles First Ever 3D Sports Broadcast to the Home Posted: 23/04/2010
kalypso On Wednesday, March 24 a Grass Valley™ Kalypso™ high-definition Video Production Center was used by mobile production company Game Creek Video (based in Hudson, N.H.) to produce a live 3D multi-camera telecast of an NHL Hockey from New York's Madison Square Garden (MSG). From there, and for the first time, the signal of the game between the New York Rangers and New York Islanders was distributed to Cablevision subscribers throughout the New York metropolitan area with 3D television sets in their homes.

Vizrt Products Essential in TopVisions Production of First 3D HD German Football Game

On March 14th TopVision, the Berlin-based OB-Van production company, presented the first live 3D HD Bundesliga football match in Germany. Nine 3D camera rigs (18 cameras in total) provided the video and Vizrts software generated the graphics. The Viz Trio character generator and the dual-channel Viz Engine created and synchronized graphics for the left and right eyes, creating the 3D effect.

 

The 3D football game was transmitted by satellite to a closed-circuit audience in Munich where all viewers were given RealD 3D circular-polarized glasses. Achim Jendges, TopVisions CEO, said the 3D production and transmission was a full success, and the company plans to continue producing more sport events in 3D.
