Oxygen DCT relocates to larger premises Posted: 07/05/2010
Oxygen DCT relocates to larger premises Oxygen DCT Ltd, the UK's leading broadcast monitors and systems engineering products supplier has relocated to larger premises at Fortuna Court in Aldermaston, just off the M4 motorway near Reading in Berkshire, UK.
Following successive years of continuous growth it has been necessary for Oxygen DCT to relocate to larger  premises. With more than double the size, its new building allows the company to expand its customer demonstration and training facilities, accommodate more staff as well as, for the first time, pre-fabricate systems onsite. Commenting on the move, Managing Director and CEO Steve Hathaway says "this is a major achievement for us and our growth is an acknowledgment from our custome! rs that we have something valuable to bring to the party. We have focused from day one on our customers, helping them  with expert technical solutions rather than just shipping boxes. The rapid rate at which we have developed products and introduced new, world leading equipment has been a reflection of our insatiable appetite to meet our customers needs." He adds " the investment in new premises allows us to further streamline our work flow and become even more efficient, thus reducing costs which benefit customers with lower, more competitive pricing as well as best of breed technology ".

Friendly Fires use SADiEs LRX2 Location Recorder For US Tour Posted: 07/05/2010
friendly fire sadie Live F.O.H mix engineer Richard Barling used a SADiE LRX2 location audio workstation on the recent three-week Friendly Fires tour of the United States.
"The LRX2 performed very well," Barling says. "I used it to both multitrack record the shows and 'virtual soundcheck' at soundcheck time. We ran 28 channels from stage, four lines of music and intro at F.O.H and two audience mics. In total, we recorded 36 channels every night via the two fibre optic MADI cables linked to a Soundcraft Vi6 local rack with MADI outs and one wordclock cable. The audio sounded great."

Now, thanks to the Canon 5D and others, a whole new section of photographers are now getting grips with HD. So now here is an area, DSLR-HD, that's very new and needs to know how to get the most out of this new medium. In all cases sharing knowledge at this forum will help everyone to understand how filters can help them. This is unique. It's going to help everyone."

With many exhibitors navigating through the minefield of shooting 3D through variable-magnification optics, Polecam clearly illustrated the advantages of deploying prime lenses and moving the cameras towards the subject rather than zooming into close-up.
