TV 2 virtualizes support and monitoring of IP media network operations with Nevion Service Operations Center Posted: 06/05/2020
Norway and rsquo;s TV 2 virtualizes support and monitoring of IP media network operations with Nevion and rsquo;s Service Operations Center

Nevion, award-winning provider of virtualized media production solutions, announced today that TV 2, the largest commercial television broadcaster in Norway, is using Nevion’s Service Operations Center (SOC) to provide proactive support and monitoring of its IP media network operations.

Having moved to IP production in 2017 with Nevion’s help, TV 2 initially chose Nevion’s advanced remote services, in order to leverage the expertise and experience of the SOC’s staff, and focus on its own core-competencies, including content creation. When the COVID-19 crisis developed, TV 2’s decision to virtualize the support and monitoring of its IP media network operations proved to be invaluable as very few staff would have been able to be on-site to maintain the network.

Trickbox TV stream doctors discussion as they launch a Virtual Events service amid pandemic Posted: 23/04/2020
Trickbox TV stream doctors discussion as they launch a Virtual Events service amid pandemic

On the development of their new Virtual Events, Trickbox TV reached out to Reachora Ltd, who were keen to ensure the quality of their live stream. Reachora supports the teaching of recent medical research by broadcasting lectures and presentations alongside video straight from hospitals.

The medical profession relies on shared knowledge to plan effective responses to threats so in light of the recent pandemic, video and sound quality were more important than ever.  Trickbox set up and managed a live streaming service, supporting a heavy-use of GFX and PiPS, as doctors in Boston and Belfast used diagrams and stats to explain the effects of COVID-19 on the cardiovascular system.

The stream was a success, and the satisfaction was resounding. Liam Laminman, Trickbox’s MD commented, ‘While a new service always brings a sense of achievement, we were particularly honoured to launch our first live event in such an important context. In whatever small way, we all want to have a part to play supporting our key workers’.
