More than 30 years of product development has ensured Peli Cases are the market leader in essential protection for broadcast and photographic equipment. Offering watertight, dustproof and crushproof security, Peli cases are backed by legendary "You break it, we replace it" lifetime guarantee.

Professionals choose Peli cases time after time for their reliability, performance and durability in the most challenging circumstances. Series Producer/Director and Cameraman, Alexis Giradet has filmed all over the world and used Peli cases for many years in the most testing conditions;
"On my recent polar expedition, filming Walking with The Wounded's South Pole Allied Challenge for ITV and NBC, we worked in the unrelenting cold and brutal conditions of Antarctica. With no back up or outside support, it was essential that we protected the fragile filming kit, there was no room for error. In the extreme conditions of -40C and with constant wind blowing snow everywhere keeping the kit locked up in peli cases was the only option. Suffice it to say - our kit survived, we filmed everything and we made it back in one piece from the 5 week expedition.

"At the moment I am doing a TV series looking at the lives of Nomads across the vast expanse of Asia. I've been filming with Nomadic families in some of the harshest conditions imaginable. From the vast, dry lands of the Gobi in Mongolia and the steep, humid, forested hills of Southern Nepal to the frozen Arctic wastes of the Siberian Tundra. Living in the wilds, constantly on the move all takes a toll on people and kit. The key to working in these extreme and remote locations is protecting your kit against the multitude of conditions that are faced on a daily basis. I've been using Peli cases for years now and nothing has even come close in terms of protection and sheer quality. I know I can pack the most delicate of camera kit in a Peli case and then forget about it until needed. Not once has it let me down."

Peli cases are produced in over 80 sizes from a structural resin shell that does not dent and protects sensitive equipment against extreme conditions. The automatic pressure equalization valve stops moisture from entering the case and prevents vacuum-lock so it can be opened easily at any altitude. A neoprene o-ring seal ensures the case is watertight and the easy-open, double-step latches secure the contents while metal reinforced padlock protectors stop the case from being cut or pried open.

Peli Hardback cases have been added to the range to protect iPads, tablets and laptops from drops, knocks and scratches no matter where you go. Combining durability, security and style, Hardback cases are manufactured in tough ABS, offering robust and durable protection, even in harsh conditions.

Take off with Peli

Peli UK have worked in partnership with manufacturers and distributors in the recent development of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) in the film and broadcast market. These fragile and valuable items require the ultimate in protection to reach their destination in perfect condition.

Quadcopters UK have chosen the Peli 0370 cube case with a bespoke foam insert to safely house the S1000 model; they are the first in the country to embrace this concept as the preferred solution (www.quadcopters.co.uk). The foam insert is designed specifically for this UAV model by Peli's in house team. Based at Peli's foam engineering facility, MSA Foams, the team specialise in the design and manufacture of protective packaging solutions.

Custom foam inserts from MSA foams offer the optimum in equipment protection. Custom foam is extremely durable and ensures the contents are well organised, kept in their place and are fully protected, making them deal for a wide range of film and broadcast equipment.

Above and Beyond

Bespoke foam inserts are used with Peli cases by Camera Corps Ltd, the World Leaders in supplying Speciality Remote Cameras, Remote Tracking Systems and Bespoke Remote Camera Solutions to broadcasters worldwide (www.cameracorps.co.uk).
Neil Ashworth, Operations Manager at Camera Corps explained "Whenever we release, build or buy new Kit it is now always cased in a Peli. The build quality for me beats any competition by far. The whole process from concept, to drawings to purchase is consistently delivered on time, on budget and done with ease. The Peli team is always more than happy to help with any rushed orders. The last few months have been a particularly busy time for us and they have certainly gone above and beyond and really pulled out all the stops, for this I am very grateful.

We use Peli Cases to hold our most expensive and delicate kit, from remote heads, to complex and delicate fibre systems and very expensive television lenses. We have never had any breakages with the kit or the boxes. The detailing Peli laser engraves for us is amazing, I am very often complimented on how our kit turns up on a job or with a client. My philosophy is that if you have a £15000 lens, makes sound financial sense to spend a few hundred pounds on a case to protect it.
I look forward to further building our relationship with Peli and MSA foams and bring on 2016, a very busy year!"

Peli Backpacks

Peli Backpacks combine the watertight features of the Peli case with a practical, stylish backpack. They are designed to protect technology and photographic gear whilst on the move. The range is designed for function with flair and includes different styles to protect laptops or tablets - these are top loading for fast access.

The Peli U160 and the S115 Camera Backpacks include a crushproof section for cameras and lenses. There are cushioned dividers to protect each piece of camera kit from knocking against another. These dividers can be moved and reconfigured to accommodate changes in the equipment carried.

As well as the film and TV sector, Peli UK customers include the MOD, Police, Fire & Rescue Services as well as industrial and safety companies. Peli UK is accredited with the ISO 9001 standard.

Taking a Stand at IBC - The Future of Exhibiting Clouds
Julian Wright If you’re reading KitPlus you probably don’t need us to tell you that, each year, the IBC Show attracts 1,700 exhibitors, each parting with a significant sum of money for the privilege of touting their wares from the darkened halls for five whole days. For the last eight years Blue Lucy has been one of these exhibitors and the show has always more than paid for itself in generating new business, as well as the less directly-tangible benefits from partnerships and networking opportunities.

Creating Opportunities For A Diverse and Colourful Future
Alex Humphries-French The creative industry is awash with beautiful designs, animations and incredible imagery, created for one reason – to entertain and capture our imagination. An industry creating such amazing visualisations should represent all viewers, from different backgrounds, beliefs, cultures and orientations. ACCESS:VFX, could be the answer to a more diverse and inclusive industry, by connecting young people through the power of education, mentoring and events across the UK and beyond.

IBC 2019 A Whistle Stop Rundown
Ben Sherriff I’ve been to IBC once before, taking to the floor with Simon, Matt, Jon and the rest of the KitPlus team to assist with the filming of interviews. This was a lot of fun, but it was hard to find the time to look at the kit I wanted to see. This year with the demise of BVE and unable to make it to the Media Production Show I decided to fork out for a ‘research’ trip to IBC. In the spirit of full disclosure, I ought to note that I have two small children and a very busy work schedule, so the trip had nothing to do with escaping for a weekend of uninterrupted sleep and meal times (honest). Due to these commitments I could only manage one full day and a few hours the next day at the show so it was a lot to cram in trying to see everything I wanted to see!

State Of The Nation: Securing The Future
Dick Hobbs - new This magazine is a notable champion for education in our industry, and deserves much praise for its efforts. To my mind, there is all too little concern for our future. I have previously taken up your time in these pages on the subject of creating the next generation of talent, but I am largely unrepentant that I am going to do it again.
