PlayBox Neo Redefines Broadcast Playout with PlayBox Neo Suite

PlayBox Neo confirmed its ongoing leadership in media channel branding and playout at the September 9th-12th IBC 2022 exhibition with new introductions to the company's portfolio, centered on the unified PlayBox Neo Suite.

"Operational efficiency and flexibility are more important than ever for broadcasters and playout service providers as they compete for audience attention across terrestrial, cable, satellite and IP networks," says Pavlin Rahnev, CEO of PlayBox Neo. "Designed to interface with PlayBox Neo Suite, Capture Suite gives ingest staff the resources they need to handle multiple incoming content feeds rapidly and without stress. Tasks such as input selection, ingest presets, file-naming rules, assignments and auto-transfer can also be performed quickly and easily from a single graphic interface. The integral multiviewer includes automated black-frame and frozen-frame alarms. Capture Suite also provides audio loudness monitoring as well as manual, scheduled and compliance ingest modes with automated input switching. Content can be edited before the ingest process completes, with obvious advantages for time-critical news channels. MXF and TS files are available for immediate playout via AirBox Neo-20 automation, again without having to wait for the ingest process to complete.

"Also forming part of PlayBox Neo Suite, Media Gateway, which we announced and demonstrated at the show, elevates playout routing and distribution to a new level of versatility and affordability. It allows the entire process of playout routing and decoding to be handled in software, eliminating the capital outlay, maintenance charges and power costs needed to operate hardware routers, codecs and related devices. Media Gateway can be installed on site or in the cloud. Integral software codecs allow signals to be converted between SDI, NDI, SRT, UDP and RTP. Video and audio content can be grabbed directly from a desktop screen and delivered as live feeds.

"Multi Playout Manager allows multiple AirBox Neo-20 channels to be operated via IP from any network-connected location. Latest enhancements include an updated user interface and integrated playout preview. The revised UI matches those across the entire PlayBox Neo series. Also added are a future-playlist editor, support for custom metadata from AirBox Neo-20, and a library module for fast access to MAM. Enhancements include a latest-generation user interface, a preview display for controlling AirBox Neo-20 and a new proxy generator with thumbnails creation.

"Demand for server-based playout remains strong among established broadcasters of every size from single channel regional stations up to global multi-language networks. We demonstrated AirBox Neo-20, our latest generation server-based television channel branding and playout system. This can be installed on site or placed with an IP-linked playout service provider. Latest features include extended live input capabilities and a browser-based multiviewer with lost-signal and frozen-signal alarms."

PlayBox Neo (www.playboxneo.com) is a globally active leader in the development and manufacture of broadcast playout and channel branding solutions. Building on 22 years of successful innovation, the company pioneered the development of high-efficiency server-based and cloud-based playout to support every scale and type of one-to-many communication. PlayBox Neo broadcast products and cloud solutions cover everything from full live playout to round-the-clock unattended transmission. They today power over 19,000 TV and branding channels in more than 120 countries. Users include national and international broadcasters, start-up TV channels, webcasters, interactive TV and music channels, film channels, remote TV channels, corporate information channels and disaster recovery channels. New Streaming High Speed Cameras Posted: 26/09/2022
Phoenix

During the pandemic, most of us had two choices. Identifying parts of our business that we can accelerate, or nothing! At IDT, we chose the former, so we have just launched a new product range, and have three (yes, three) more coming shortly.
High speed cameras have traditionally been at the specialist end of the camera spectrum, with short sequences being recorded to RAM, and an interruption in workflow required before the next captured sequence. Minor improvements to this basic workflow have been implemented, like segmenting the RAM (which shorten each sequence, and still require a download later on), or having on board SSD, for faster downloads.
