The HDC-1700 dual-format HD system camera is equipped with sophisticated three-chip 2/3-inch Power HAD FX CCD image sensors and the latest 16-bit A/D converter to provide superior picture quality. The HDC-1700 supports HD and SD signal formats including 1080/50p, 1080/60p, 720/50p, and 720/59.94p. 1080PsF frame rates (24p, 25p, 30p) are available as an optional software update(HZC-PSF20).

The HDCU-1700 dedicated camera control unit (CCU) for the HDC-1700 camera is a19-inch half-rack size portable CCU for fibre transmission. The HDCU-1700 can control camera menu settings and display the fibre condition on its front panel. It has an expansion slot for the four HD/SD SDI outputs board; and the option board slot can be used for HKCU option cards to expand the CCUs output capability to include VBS out, PIX out, WFM out, and component video out
