Integrate and Declutter Your Workspace with 4K UHD KVM over IP Solutions from Apantac

Ideal for streamlining post-production applications - pristine UHD60 picture quality, low latency.

Apantac distributor Polar Graphics Ltd announce; Apantac has expanded its KVM over IP extension/matrix solutions with two new sets that now support 4K/UHD 60 over a managed GigE network.

Designed to streamline control and create a smart, seamless, and integrated workspace, Apantac’s KVM over IP solutions allow operators to control multiple computers from multiple locations, and from a single control console.

The new models support 4K/UHD at 60Hz with 4:4:4 12 bits colour depth processing. These high colour gamut, high colour bit depth extender/receiver solutions are an ideal KVM over IP solution for high-end post-production applications as well as production, command and control, OB vans, and professional AV workflows.

They support high dynamic range (HDR), and Dolby Vision, and offer audio support including Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD Master Audio, and Dolby ATMOS. HDCP2.2/2.3 support is also provided.

With these modules, operators can extend and/or switch HDMI video streams with visually lossless image quality and ultra-low latency (one frame).  They support all necessary control interfaces over IP including keyboard and mouse functions, USB 2.0, including USB 2.0 webcams, RS232, GPIO, and Infrared – all up to 120 meters over CAT5 cabling, or unlimited distances when connected to an IP network.

The KVM over IP family from Apantac is a cost-effective, flexible, and expandable ecosystem that can run on a managed network with inexpensive COTS GigE managed switches. They can be used in point-to-point mode (unicast or multicast) or as a matrix (multicast) when attached to a 1G network.

The extenders offer bandwidth management, which allows the operator to set limitations to limit bandwidth consumption.

The receiver modules include a built-in scaler for scaling incoming video and ensuring that the console monitor sees the same resolution, regardless of the source computer resolution. The receivers also allow users to feed video walls of up to 8 x 8 displays.

Modules are equipped with an HDMI 2.0 input and output and extenders (Tx) have an input loop, which for example allows the operator to connect to a local console. They include advanced EDID management and accept DVI, DP++ or even VGA source signals with the help of various adapters, supporting different resolutions all the way up to 4K/UHD 60.

A free Windows configuration application is available, and each module has a web interface providing access to all configuration parameters. The solution is based on a distributed architecture. Each module is self-sufficient, and the matrix does not rely on a single server to operate. A “free flow” license is available to allow an operator to control multiple consoles from a single keyboard and mouse by simply moving the mouse pointer across each of the console monitors.

The new KVM over IP extender/receiver sets will be demonstrated at the upcoming IBC 2023 show on the Apantac stand 10.D44, contact Polar Graphics to arrange a meeting; sales@polar-graphics.com
